WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary head women's basketball coach Erin Dickerson Davis announced the signing of a trio of players, Cassidy Geddes (Hickory, N.C. / Newton-Conover High School), Cate Carlson (Virginia Beach, Va. / Catholic High School), and Monet Dance (Roswell, Ga. / Mount Pisgah Christian School) to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Named Foothills Finest Girls Basketball Player of the Year as a junior… Four-year varsity basketball starter and two-time Conference Player of the Year… Scored her 1,000th career point on Feb. 22, 2022… Packed the stat sheet as a junior, averaging 21.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 4.5 steals per game… Shot 53% from the floor in 2021-22… Other junior-year honors included First-Team All-District, North Carolina High School Athletic Association Performance of the Week (2/21/22), National MaxPreps Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week (1/9/22), Dicks Sporting Goods Classic Tournament MVP…Played two years with Lady Attack Elite 17U National… Multi-sport athlete who also played four years of volleyball and a season of soccer… Member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and Beta Club… Dad, Leonard, played football at Lenoir-Rhyne University… Plans to major in business.

From Coach E: We are so excited to welcome Cassidy to Williamsburg. She is a combo guard that can play on and off the ball. Her ability to score the basketball, her high basketball IQ, and her competitiveness are exactly what we need, not only for our culture but also to replace our graduating guards. Cassidy is a natural-born leader, a winner, and she will do whatever is necessary to help this team succeed. I look forward to coaching her!

Two-time Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools (TCIS) Player of the Year and First-Team All-State… TCIS 2022 Tournament MVP… led team to TCIS championship in 2022… Named to the 2022 National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA) first team… Versatile player with four years of varsity-team experience… Racked up over 1,700 career points and averaged 21.1 points per game as a junior… Shot over 50% from the field in 21-22 while also averaging 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 3.3 steals per game… Played AAU for Boo Williams EYBL 17u and 16u teams… Plans to major in business.

From Coach E: When I first started at W&M, I told our staff how important it was for us to get great student-athletes from this area. When we had the opportunity to recruit Cate, she fit exactly what we were looking for in creating our culture. She's from right down the road in Virginia Beach, she's a versatile scorer that has an outstanding basketball resume, and she is the kind of young woman who fits that tough-nosed, gritty culture we are building here. We are so lucky to have her.

Scored her 1,000th career point as a junior…Able to create shots for herself off the dribble while always looking for teammates… Averaged 24 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 5.3 steals per game as a junior…Named Region 6-A Co-Player of the Year as a sophomore…A constant presence in her high school backcourt with over a decade of experience on the court…Will be the first member of her family to play sports at the collegiate level…Named to the honor roll in each of the past three years… Plans to major in psychology.

From Coach E: The first time I watched Monet play, I knew I wanted her to be a part of our team. My staff told me all the wonderful things she brings to the table, but seeing her in person showed me just how impactful she could be to our program. She's a firecracker on the court, a vocal leader, and a guard that can score at three levels. Her energy on the hardwood and love for this game is something we can't wait to have at William & Mary.
