WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After posting a tremendous performance in the William & Mary football team's Capital Cup victory at No. 11 Richmond, quarterback 
Darius Wilson was selected as the W&M Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery. It marks the second consecutive week Wilson has garnered the distinction.
 
Wilson was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Women's swimming's Sophia Heilen and volleyball's Maddie Meyers were also honored as finalists for the weekly award.
 
Honored as the Capital Cup MVP, Wilson completed 9-of-13 passes for 227 yards with a touchdown, highlighted by a 77-yard scoring strike to 
DreSean Kendrick. Additionally, he rushed for 42 yards on six carries with two touchdowns.   
 
Wilson's outstanding effort helped W&M pile up 37 points and 471 total yards (244 rushing/227 passing).
 
One of the nation's top quarterbacks this season, Wilson, the 2021 CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year, currently ranks ninth nationally in passing efficiency (164.8), fourth in passing yards per attempt (9.9), seventh in passing yards per completion (15.0) and 16th in completion percentage (.660).
 
W&M will continue its quest for a National Championship as the No. 5 seed in the upcoming 
NCAA FCS Playoffs.
 
The Tribe will have a bye this week before hosting the winner of Gardner-Webb/Eastern Kentucky at Zable Stadium on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.
