Having won its last six games, W&M will look to earn its best regular season record in school history at UR this Saturday, as a win would give the Tribe its first 10-win regular season slate. W&M is coming off its best all-around performance of the season as it totaled season highs in points (45), total yards (582) and rushing yards (371) in its lopsided win against Villanova last Saturday. Additionally, the Tribe's defense held the Wildcats without a touchdown until the waning minutes of the fourth quarter.
Ranked 11th nationally, Richmond enters Saturday's contest on a five-game winning streak and owns an 8-2 overall record and a 6-1 mark in conference play. The Spiders rank third in the CAA in scoring (30.9) and second in scoring defense (18.6). Led by quarterback Reece Udinski, the Spiders boast the league's top passing attack and are averaging 291.3 yards per game through the air.
Saturday's game between W&M and UR will mark the 133rd meeting between the two schools in what has been traditionally called the "Oldest Rivalry in the South" – but may be more accurately described as the most PLAYED rivalry in the South. The Spiders own a 64-63-5 edge in the all-time series. The teams first met in 1898, when Richmond blanked W&M, 15-0. Only three other Division I series have a longer history than that of W&M vs. UR.
