WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's golf competes in the Elon Phoenix Invitational for the first time, Oct. 10-11.
The Tournament
The seventh annual Elon Phoenix Invitational will be played at the Alamance Country Club. The course will play par-71 at 6,867 yards. The event will consists of 36 holes on Monday with an 9 a.m. shot gun start and 18 holes to follow on Tuesday, beginning at 8 a.m. off tees 1 and 10. Joining the Tribe and host Phoenix in the event will be Appalachian State, Colgate, Gardner-Webb, George Washington, Lafayette, LaSalle, Longwood, N.C. A&T, NC State (Individuals only), North Carolina (Individuals only), Ohio, Presbyterian, Queens University, Radford, Temple and UNCG (Individuals only).

Matthew Feinstein, senior
Trevor Binau, freshman
Charlie Bundy and sophomore
Jake Newman. W&M will be paired with Colgate, LaSalle and Presbyterian.

Tribe News and Notes
- Last time out, the Tribe earned a runner-up finish at the ECU Ironwood Collegiate Classic. W&M shot the best final-round score at the event, carding a 1-under 287 to jump two spots and earn a runner-up finish. The Tribe's 54-hole team score of 7-over 871 was the 15th-best mark in school history. W&M opened the tournament with a one-shot lead after firing a first-round 3-over 291 and came back with a 293 (+5) in round 2.
- Freshman
Charlie Bundy led the way for W&M at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, earning a share of second at 3-under 213. It was the second-best freshman score in school history. He shot a 4-under 68 during the final round, which was the second-best 18-hole score for a Tribe freshman.
- For his efforts, Bundy was named the CAA Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. He joined graduate student
Matthew Feinstein in earning the honor this season.
- In total, the Tribe set six school records at the VCU Shootout, Sept. 12-13. W&M set marks for 18-hole scoring at 16-under 272 in the second round; 36-hole scoring at 19-under 557 over the first two rounds; and 54-hole scoring at 21-under 843. Individually, Feinstein equaled the school record for 18-hole scoring (7-under 65) and 36-hole scoring (10-under), before topping 54-hole mark at 15-under par. He was the first Tribe player to win a tournament since David Hicks won the Fighting Irish Invitational in 2017-18.
- Sophomore
Logan Hunter also turned in one of the best 54-hole scoring marks in school history at well. He was under par in all three rounds at the VCU Shootout, posting a 7-under 209 to earn a share of 19th. It was the sixth-best scoring total in W&M history.
