WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary women's soccer enters an important week in the Colonial Athletic Association race, hosting teams among the top three in the league standings. The Tribe, which is second in the CAA through four games at 2-0-2, hosts Northeastern on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., before welcoming Monmouth on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. Both the Huskies (5-4-3) and Hawks (9-2-1) are tied for third in the league standings at 2-1-1. The Tribe went 1-0-1 last week, picking up a 1-0 win over preseason CAA favorite UNCW on Sept. 29, before playing to a 2-2 draw with Charleston on Sunday. In the process, the Tribe extended its unbeaten streak to six matches, its longest since 2015. Freshman Ivey Crain flipped a shot over the top of the UNCW goalkeeper from eight yards out in the 70th minute to lift the Tribe to the win over the Seahawks. In the span of five days, the Tribe knocked of the reigning CAA tournament champion (Hofstra) and the defending CAA regular season champion (UNCW). Junior Kenna Zier and freshman Madison Moon found the back of the net in the first half of W&M's tie with the Cougars.

Crain was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the third time on Monday. She has been recognized by the league each of the last three week, including being selected as the offensive player of the week on Sept. 26. Crain has a point in all four CAA games this season and leads the league with four goals in conference play.
