Ivey Crain Earns Third CAA Rookie of the Week Honor

RICHMOND, Va. – William & Mary women's soccer freshman Ivey Crain was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday.

The Milton, Ga., native earned a weekly CAA honor for the third-straight week after being named the league's offensive player of the week last Monday. She earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 19 and Aug. 22 as well.

Last week, Crain tallied a goal and an assist in helping the Tribe extend its unbeaten streak to six matches with a 1-0-1 week. She scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute as the Tribe knocked off preseason CAA favorite UNCW, 1-0, on Thursday. Crain assisted on W&M's first goal in a 2-2 draw with Charleston, finding Kenna Zier in the left side of the 18-yard box.

On the year, Crain leads the Tribe and ranks fourth in the CAA in goals (7) and points (17). She has recorded at least a point in each of her first four CAA matches and in conference play, leads the league with four goals. Her seven goals are the most for a W&M true freshman since 2011.

The Tribe welcomes Northeastern to Martin Family Stadium at Albert Field for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday, Oct. 6. It will be the team's Oktoberfest with the first 100 students receiving a W&M-themed lederhosen t-shirt and Tribe Athletics partner Sodexo will have a German-styled concessions menu.
