Field Hockey Heads to American For Regular Season Finale

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary field hockey wraps up the regular season on Saturday afternoon, taking on America at the William I Jacobs Recreational Complex. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

It's been just over eight years since W&M squared off against American, with the Eagles capturing a 3-0 win in 2016. However, the teams have split their last 10 games with the Green and Gold's most recent victory coming in a 2-1 OT showing in 2013.

More recently, the Tribe finished its home schedule on a high note last week, defeating Towson 4-0 on Friday's Senior Day. Graduate students Aidan Rossman and Aubrey Scott King, and seniors eniors Lauren Curran and Amber Bode all connected on goals as W&M drew a season-high 14 penalty corners. Senior Tabby Billingham dished out a pair of assists, while junior goalkeeper Maddie George recorded her second straight shutout.

Curran's second-quarter goal against the Tigers was her team-leading 11th of the season. In 16 games, she ranks second in the CAA in goals and points (22). Meanwhile, George's goals against average (1.388) and total shutouts (5) sit top of the conference.

William & Mary, which owns three wins over top-20 teams this fall, spent six straight weeks in the national rankings, peaking at No. 16, the program's highest since 2004.
