RICHMOND,VA. - The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) has unveiled its women's basketball conference slate for the 2021-22 season.

The schedule returns to a traditional home-and-home, round-robin format featuring 18 conference games after last season was modified to accommodate the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each institution will be paired with a travel partner as was the case in the previous two seasons. Teams will compete in a Friday/Sunday format featuring back-to-back games at home or on the road. During the two weeks in which a team faces their travel partner, both teams will have a bye on Friday before playing on Sunday.

Regular-season play begins Friday, December 31 and concludes Sunday, March 5. The 2022 CAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Primis is scheduled for March 9-12 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Tribe will open CAA play with three road games kicking the slate off with a Jan. 2 date with Elon before facing James Madison on Jan. 7 and Towson on Jan. 9. The team will then return to Kaplan Arena for a home weekend hosting UNCW on Jan. 14 and College of Charleston on Jan 16.

Coach Swanson's team will head north for dates with Hofstra and Northeastern on Jan. 21 and Jan. 23 before a four-game home stand in Williamsburg welcoming in Delaware (Jan. 28), Drexel (Jan. 30), Towson, (Feb. 4), and James Madison (Feb. 6).Â

The Green and Gold will visit Charleston on Feb. 11 and UNCW Feb. 13 and will welcome Northeastern (Feb. 18) and Hofstra (Feb. 20) for the seventh and eighth home contests of the conference slate.Â

The Tribe will wrap up the 2021-22 CAA schedule with trips to Drexel (Feb. 25) and Delaware (Feb. 27) before hosting Elon on Mar. 5 in the regular season finale at Kaplan Arena.Â
