Dane Fischer announced the addition of graduate transfer
Brandon Carroll (Bronx, N.Y./Iona Prep) to the Tribe program for the 2021-22 season. After starting his career at Bryant University in Rhode Island, Carroll spent the last two seasons at Florida Southern, earning all-conference honors in 2021. Carroll will enroll in W&M's prestigious Raymond A. Mason School of Business for graduate school.

"Brandon has played at a high level throughout his college career and adds a veteran presence to our program. He possesses the athleticism to rebound and defend multiple positions, and we love his ability to shoot the ball. In addition to what Brandon brings to the court, he will be a great representative of our program and member of the campus community."Â

Over the last two seasons at Florida Southern, Carroll appeared in 41 games and averaged 12.5 points (513 total) and 4.9 rebounds per game (199 total) while shooting 43% (71-of-165) from 3-point range. In 2021, he earned All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team honors, averaging 16.4 points per game and helping the Mocs to the league's championship game. In the classroom, Carroll was named to both the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award recipient.

In 2021, Carroll scored 20 or more points in five of his 10 games, including a pair of 30-point performance. He opened the season with 32 points in a win over Palm Beach Atlantic and erupted for a career-high 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting and 6-of-7 from 3-point range in a win at Barry. Â

Prior to his time at Florida Southern, Carroll spent three seasons at Division I Bryant in the Northeast Conference. After redshirting his freshman season, he played in 42 games with 14 starts over his last two seasons with the Bulldogs, averaging 4.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

As a redshirt freshman in 2017-18, he averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Carroll earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors after back-to-back strong performances. He tallied 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting to go with eight rebounds in a win over Mount St. Mary's, before recording his first career double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds at Wagner.

Over his collegiate career, Carroll has scored 719 points and grabbed 345 rebounds in 83 career games with 31 starts between Bryant and Florida Southern. He was a three-sport athlete at Iona Prep in New York prior to his collegiate career. Carroll competed in track and field and football and played just one year of high school basketball before signing at Bryant.
