Men's Soccer Welcomes Charleston on Martin Family Stadium on Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's soccer returns to Colonial Athletic Association play by hosting Charleston on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Martin Family Stadium.

All Tribe home matches will be streamed on FloFC. Things to Know

- W&M is 12-2-2 all-time against Charleston, including a 6-0 in Williamsburg. The Tribe has outscored CofC, 35-17, in the all-time series. During the spring season, W&M posted a 2-0 home win over the Cougars thanks to a pair of Alexander Levengood goals. Classmate Nathan Messer assisted on one of the two Tribe goals last year and scored the game-winner in a 2-0 win at Charleston in 2018.
 
- Charleston is 3-4-2 overall and 0-3 in CAA play. The Cougars opened the season 2-1-2 with wins at South Carolina (1-0) and UNC Asheville (5-3). CofC snapped a three-match losing streak with a 2-1 overtime win at Furman on Wednesday night. Kane Ritchie scored both Cougar goals, including the OT winner in 96th minute. Ritchie leads Charleston with nine points on four goals and an assist.

- Junior Diba Nwegbo leads the Tribe with eight points on three goals and two assists and has registered at least a point in four of the Tribe's six matches. He ranks third in the CAA and 67th nationally in points per game (1.33). Nwegbo is also sixth in the CAA in 81st nationally in goals per game (0.5). At Hofstra, Nwegbo scored just 12 seconds into the match which was the fastest goal in both W&M and CAA history and the 19th quickest in NCAA history.
 
- Juniors Alexander Levengood and Nathan Messer own five points on the season on two goals and an assist. Levengood scored a goal in back-to-back games vs. George Washington and Northeastern, while Messer tallied a goal against Saint Francis (PA) and Virginia Tech.
 
-Senior John Eberle, junior Alfredo Bozalongo and Nwegbo share the team lead with two assists apiece. They rank 10th in the CAA in assists per game (0.33). Nwegbo tallied helpers in wins over St. Francis (PA) and George Washington, while Eberle registered assists against the Colonials and most recently against nationally-ranked Virginia Tech. Bozalongo recorded his second assist of the season at Hofstra, setting up Nwegbo's early goal.

- With its 1-0 win over George Washington on Sept. 14, the Tribe started the season 2-0 for the first time since 2010. The Green and Gold started shutout its first two opponents of the year marking the first time W&M opened with back-to-back shutouts since 1996.

- Junior goalkeeper Connor Andrews returned to the Tribe lineup for the first time since 2018 and started back-to-back matches vs. Virginia Tech and at Hofstra. He tallied six saves in both contests.

- Sophomore goalkeeper Will Stack started the Tribe's four of the Tribe's six matches, posting two shutouts. He owns a GAA of a 1.25 to go along with a save % of 83.3.
 
- As a team, the Tribe has placed 28 of their 51 shots on goal. W&M leads the CAA and ranks fourth nationally in shot accuracy at 54.9%.
 
- Both Levengood and Stack were ranked among the top 20 players in the CAA according to Top Drawer Soccer. Levengood came in ninth, while Stack was one of two goalkeepers on the list and was No. 19.
