And just like that, we are weeks away from graduation. The time when our freshmen are no longer the newbies, the sophomores are upperclassmen, and our juniors become the leaders of this team. Although this is an unconventional graduation on May 16 - virtual, I can't wait to have our 2020 graduating senior class back in October so they have the chance to walk across the stage.

This senior group is special. Period.

38112Taylor is the one who I can always trust to laugh at my jokes even when they aren't funny. She is the one who may not like my hard assignments, but always comes to say "I know it's going to help my gymnastics." She has truly blossomed throughout her career as a Tribe student-athlete. I appreciate you.

Evan is my BEAUTIFUL bar and beam worker! Her lines, focus, and ability to make me jump 10 feet (ok, maybe 1/2 an inch) off the ground while 8.5 months pregnant is amazing! She is the one I can always count on to hit a solid bar routine and have her score count! I appreciate you.

Erika's long lines, beautiful toe point, consistent vault, big tkatchev, and fluid beam won't be forgotten! Although she never got her chance at competing floor for the Tribe, we will just use our imagination and think about what could have been. I appreciate you.

Elizabeth is my exciting floor worker! She will put on a show whether she is training alone or out on the competition floor. She really knows how to get the crowd going. I never have to finish my sentences because she gets me. One look and she says "Hey everyone, Kelsey wants....". I appreciate you.

Caroline is my "go getter". Coming in and competing all four events her freshman year, but making changes to compete two events her senior year due to injury was hands down unselfish. She proved to be an asset on floor and beam, while being the person I went to if I needed something done. She is the one who high fives or hugs me after her floor routines at meets. I appreciate you.

Stephanie is one of our student managers. During orientation for new students in the Sunken Gardens, I bumped into her after conversations prior to her enrollment and thought she would be an excellent asset to our team. She is our sixth member of the senior class and goes above and beyond to make my job easier. I appreciate you.

During this school year, eight student-athletes were All-ECAC conference winners, eight Provost winners, Assistant Coach of the Year for Brittney, bars school record by Katie Waldman with a 9.925, and my first home event win as a head coach at our only home meet. THESE moments! Man oh man, these moments!

My first year as a head coach was very interesting. Expecting a child in the middle of season, bringing on an assistant coach in October after school started, and COVID-19 all proved to be big challenges for me this year! Nonetheless, we made it to the end! This team is amazing! I look forward to the moments when they call me to tell me about exciting things happening in their lives!

On to the 2021 season we go!

Peace, Love, and Tribe Vibes!

Hello Tribe Gym Fans!

Wow, I think we can all agree that it has been quite whirlwind over these last few months.  We hope everyone is continuing to stay safe during this unprecedented time and know that the Tribe Gymnastics Family is here for you!

This past Saturday was a fun day in the NCAA Gymnastics community.  Almost 6,000 people participated in the Flippin' 5K virtual race while ESPNU played NCAA gymnastics all day long!  It was a great way to celebrate what would have been NCAA Championships as well as all of the amazing senior gymnasts.

When I look back at this past season, I could not have asked for a better first year at William & Mary.  While we may not have been able to compete in our last home meet or the ECAC Championship meet, this year had a greater purpose for this team.  There were many challenges faced but were battled head on, obstacles that were thrown in front that resulted in so much individual growth, but with that being said, it resulted in an outstanding season filled with so many laughs and so much heart!  From Erika Marr sticking not only one but TWO vaults to holding the mat for Katie Waldman's bar dismount and seeing her record-setting score of a 9.925 to watching Head Coach Kelsey Hinton hop up in the air after Evan Pakshong's stuck her bar dismount, these are just a few of the highlights from this past year.  I wish I had the ability to go on and on with all the accomplishments, but I know you all would be reading a novel so I will leave everyone with this:  To the William & Mary team of 2019-2020, you all are a phenomenal group of young women with big shoes to fill for next season.  There was so much heart, passion and buy-in to continue to grow the program.  While this season may have been cut short, no one can take away anything you all earned this season.  I thank each of you guys and Kelsey for making this year such a memorable one and cannot wait to see what is in store for next year!

I hope everyone continues to stay safe and GO TRIBE!

Hi Tribe Gym Fans,

I hope you are all doing well and are safe and healthy at home. Now that I have been home for a couple weeks, I have finally started to get into the routine of doing school online. It is definitely a new experience for me, but I think that I am making the most of it. I have had a lot of tests the past week but things are finally starting to slow down. It has also been tough to not be able to go into a gym to train, but I have been doing a lot of workouts with my younger brother and have started running a little bit as well. I have also been playing other sports such as soccer, volleyball and lacrosse with my family, which is fun. I have also been keeping busy by painting, reading books, and cooking! I miss seeing my teammates every day, but we keep in touch over text and through zoom calls with the whole team!

To recap on the season, I feel like I could not have asked for a better freshman year. The whole team really clicked and it is really unfortunate that we did not get to finish out the season. We were definitely building up momentum and I think we were on the edge of having an AMAZING home meet and ECAC championship. Our seniors led the team throughout the season, and I know I will miss them all a lot next year. They made all of us freshmen feel so welcome and helped us get accustomed to college gymnastics. Shoutout to Erika, Lizzy, Caroline, Evan, Taylor and Steph for having amazing careers with the Tribe and I know they will all go on to do amazing things!

I am already looking forward to next season when the whole team can get together again and welcome the incoming freshmen. I miss being at school, even though I am enjoying time with my family.

Once again, I wish everyone well during this time and as always, Go Tribe!

Hi Tribe Fans,

blogThis season has been filled with nothing but fun times, amazing record-breaking performances, and yes, surprises. Though this season hasn't finished the way any of us anticipated or ever expected, I have to say I wouldn't change anything about it. As a senior, this entire experience has definitely thrown me for a loop. You expect to go to your senior meet and finish off with a bang at ECACs, but unfortunately for the safety of the community and our own team, this wasn't able to happen. At first, I will admit I was simply devastated. It felt as though our season was ripped away from us. However, the longer I have been staying at home and reflecting, the more I realize that this is not about the ending, but the journey. I have had so many wonderful memories that have happened throughout my collegiate career that define my experience—not just this unfortunate sickness that has spread over the country at the end of our season this year. I have made lifelong friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life, learned life skills (such as having to say no sometimes), and even learned how to do a few new skills along the way proving that you can in fact teach an old dog new tricks.

Since we had to pack up and leave campus, my life has been quite different, as I am sure is your experience as well.  Changing routine can be difficult for everyone. I miss my friends and teammates more than anything! Living with my best friends has made my senior year one that I will cherish for the rest of my life due to my amazing class. For me this transition has been a little challenging since I rely heavily on structure.  It has, however, allowed me to break out of my comfort zone and try out new forms of exercise that I would have never thought to try, such as yoga or online barre classes. I have also started to run, which I never thought I would be interested in! Running every day is a nice way to burn off some steam to be able to settle down for online classes.  Since being home, I have been helping out around the house for my mom who runs the emergency operations incident command center as operation section chief, insuring all medical personnel working on the front line have the tools and equipment they need to treat all patients. While she works long 12-16 hour days, I make sure to clean and cook dinner, or help out in any way to make sure she can provide for her health system to the best of her ability. Other than that, I have occupied myself with trying new recipes to cook (vegetarian and vegan!) for my meat-eating family to try and see if they can figure out if I used meat or not, making puzzles, baking new goods with my amazing boyfriend David Watkins (Tribe Men's gymnastics alum), and watching "Love is Blind" on Netflix, enjoyed loads of popcorn. If you haven't watched that show, I highly recommend it!

women's gymnastics blogAs I write my LAST ever gym blog, I cannot think of all the spelling mistakes I have made over the years, and I have one thing to say for this: I am way smarter than this I promise! I have had such an amazing time writing on this blog with you throughout the years. Thank you for your continued support of Tribe Gym and following us weekly. With the abrupt ending of our season this year, I know that our Tribe Gym women are all so excited for what next season will bring and I am as well. Though my role will be changing next year from athlete to spectator, I cannot wait to see what amazing things this team will do under the leadership of Kelsey and Brittney. I cannot wait to cheer them on from the stands next year. Thank you so much for sticking with me these last four years, and for the last time ever! I am forever grateful for my time spent with tribe gym these last four years and I cannot wait for what more is to come with this program in the coming years. I hope you are all staying safe, staying home if you are able, and staying positive throughout this troublesome time. Support one anther during this time, wash your hand (per my Mom), practice social distancing, and hype yourself up for the 2021-2022 season!

And as always (and for the last time ever)… Go Tribe!,

Hey Tribe Gym Fans!!!

I hope that you are all safe and practicing appropriate social distancing!! It was so sad to see our season end early, but we understand that our safety and the safety of other gymnasts and coaches is more important. That being said, we had a fantastic season and we were just reaching our peak. Each meet our team score was getting higher and higher and we were hitting consistent routines. We are going to train hard over the summer to start next season right were we left off!

Today marks the end of our extended spring break and the start of online classes. It's a lot different but the faculty have been working so hard to keep everything as normal as possible. The assignments will start rolling in today, but I still have a lot of time on my hands. So far during my period of social distancing I've done a puzzle, played lots of darts, played lots of ping pong, rode my bike, went on a run and baked some cookies. I'm starting to run out of ideas of what to do with my day, as I'm sure you all are too.

The rest of the Tribe gym team is home with their families. Everyone is safe and staying home all day. We are looking forward to the next time we all get to train together since we never got to say a proper good bye to our season. And of course, to welcome our incoming freshmen.

Go Tribe!!

My truest Tribe fans,

Wow, I cannot believe that four years with the Tribe has finally come to an end. As much as the end to season was very abrupt, I can honestly say that I could not be more proud of the women on the team. Every member of the team worked so hard and we ended on such a high note.

I want to recognize all of the seniors on the team: Erika Marr, Evan Pakshong, Taylor White, and Caroline Caponi. We have been through so much together and I am so thankful that they have been the ones at my side these past four years. Picture this, the five of us walked into a Sweet Frog (a frozen yogurt shop) in August before our first week in college not knowing the amazing memories that we were about to make in the next four years. We survived our freshman year while we were clueless kids trying to figure out how to live away from home for the first time. We have been there through the tears, endless laughter, and crazy weather. We skipped into sophomore year with what we thought was infinitely more knowledge - but wow there was still so much to learn. We managed to make it through with our heads high and boundless memories of the good times. Junior year is where we all actually finally got an idea of what we were going to do for our first jobs. Then along came senior year. All of us were so excited to finally think we knew what was going on. We got an amazing freshman class, the juniors and sophomores were back to help us make this year one for the books. The four other seniors are truly the sisters that I never thought I wanted, and I couldn't be more thankful for them.

While it is sad that my season is over and this chapter of my life with gymnastics is over, I am so excited to see what the future has to hold for each and every one of us. I cannot wait to watch the rest of the women on this team grow into amazing, confident women and continue the Tribe Gymnastics legacy. I am already excited to be back at homecoming to see how much everyone has grown up and see the incoming class in action. I am so thankful for everything that this sport has taught me. Gymnastics was nice to me, then mean to me, and a little more mean before it was nice to me again. I would not change it for the world because as cheesy as it sounds it helped me find my family. So, thank you Mom for putting up with all the highs and lows, all my tears to see it through with me. You have been my biggest fan and the person that has kept me going with the little voice of 'Come on Smalls, you know you can do this'.

I also want to send a special shout out to our assistant coach, Brittney. You were so amazing to us and handled everything that this year threw at us with such grace. I am so excited to watch you grow into your role at William & Mary. And Kelsey, it has been an amazing four years and truly inspiring to watch your transition to head coach. Congratulations to an amazing start to leading the Tribe for the years to come.

For the Last time… I love you Tribe, it has been real!

HELLO TRIBE GYM FANS!!!

Wow! What a week it has been in the Burg! Not only were we busy working hard in the gym preparing for the end of season, but it was also a grueling week in the classroom with it being Midterm week! At this point in the season our main focus has been working on the little details and easy fixes we need to polish up our routines in every way possible! We also got to watch our amazing comeback kid, Chloe Campbell do her first full floor routine in the gym since she's been back! Also shoutout to our fabulous freshman Emma Wiley for being named ECAC Rookie of the Week this week! You're hard work doesn't go unnoticed, and we are so proud of you!

Fortunately our dedicated mindsets and strong work ethics paid off and we were able to end the week on a high at George Washington! We scored a season high of a 194.725 and were so close to breaking that 195 score!! A few highlights from the meet were senior Erika Marr's huge stuck vault for the SECOND week in a row, Bri's solid beam routine which earned her a career high 9.825, and an AMAZING 9.925 for Katie Waldman on bars which breaks our school record in that event!! Katie was also named our Unsung Hero of the week for her consistently astounding performances, so congrats Katie!! To cap off the fabulous day we were surprised with an ice cream stop on the way home for such a great meet!!

This upcoming week is actually the Tribe's spring break, but that won't stop us! We will continue to grind out those routines in practice as we gear up for our senior home meet on Saturday, and ECACs the following weekend! Hopefully we will get to enjoy some beautiful weather on our days off, and prepare to honor our seniors at their very last home meet. We will miss them DEARLY next year!

Hello Tribe Fans!

Hope everyone is doing well!

37881Yesterday, the team traveled to University of Maryland where we had one of our strongest performances of the season. The energy is higher than ever, and we are ready to kill the rest of season! We also reached a season-high 48.775 on vault, which ranks tied for the fourth-best score in school history in the event.

Also, Congrats to Brianna Greenlow for last week's "ECAC Rookie of the Week!" We are so proud of how strong and determined our freshman class is, each one is putting in so much work and we can really see it paying off. A special shout out to our Unsung winner of the week, Emma, who competed a beautiful bar set, and Erika Mar, who STUCK her vault. Moreover, senior, Caroline Caponi, is excelling in the classroom as a student teacher - I promise you all, we have a stellar teacher amongst us!

William & Mary's women and men's team spent their Saturday morning signing autographs at Williamsburg Gymnastics to interact with the club gymnasts and hopefully inspire them to follow their dreams to compete at a collegiate level! I think we can all agree it was a very nostalgic event, seeing all the recreational classes and the kids in fun unicorn and mermaid leotards.

We will return to George Washington Sunday at 1 p.m. when we compete at a five-team meet. We all are super excited to see any alumni that can attend, but if not on the 8th, hopefully you all can come to our Senior/Alumni meet with the men's team on March 14. The seniors are definitely starting to get sentimental about our "lasts…"

Best,

Evan Pakshong

Hi Tribe Fans!

What an exciting and record-breaking weekend! The Tribe had a double weekend, competing at NC State on Friday with Centenary and then at home on Sunday against West Chester. This weekend was jam packed and a lot of gymnastics, but was so much fun and showed just what we have in store for the rest of season.

37824Friday was a great build from our last meet at GW. We had a season high, scoring a 192.975 (SO close to that 193). One thing to especially note from that meet was the incredible start the bars squad put up. With a 48.950, we took the lead in the first rotation and got fired up to keep up the energy in the next three quarters. I'd say this meet everyone was extremely engaged and committed to the end and helped us to get ready to go on Sunday.

We had very good vibes for our home opener on Sunday. To start off, this meet was a pink meet, as well as our second Strength Beyond Muscles meet. Evan gave a great speech on the importance of taking care of your mental health with all the pressures and physical battles we put our bodies through. Additionally, the last time we competed against West Chester at home we had a HUGE 195. This meet did not disappoint! We started with a huge vault rotation, giving us a season high of 48.675 and finished the meet on top with a 194.550. Special shoutout to MG for crushing her all around and winning that title, as well as freshman Abby Carpenter for exhibitioning her floor set! Abby has been dealing with a number of injuries for over three years now and hasn't competed up until yesterday. She crushed her set and I passed the Unsung Hero Award to her. Go Abs!!

This coming Sunday we will be at Maryland against a number of ECAC rivals! Look forward to seeing you there. Go Tribe!

Best,
Erika

blogHappy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend. Just yesterday your Tribe gym women had a meet at the University of Pennsylvania. Every event went pretty well this weekend, but team bars absolutely KILLED IT! We are continuing to work on the details, but overall a great meet for the Tribe. A special shout out to senior, Erika Marr, for being our unsung hero of the week who had an amazing meet this weekend! And also a shout out to junior, Katie Waldman, for her win on bars! On another note, this was our first overnight trip of the season, and the team got to have a little fun at the mall across the street from our hotel before our team dinner, where some of us had to capture an amazing self timer picture as always!

Also I would like to shout out our amazing head coach, Kelsey Hinton, who supported us from all the way back in Williamsburg as she patiently awaits her upcoming due date, and also a shout out to our amazing assistant coach, Brittney Emmons, for taking on the meet solo! We love you guys!!

Now heading into this week, the team will be in the gym - laser focused - for our next meet this Friday at NC State, followed by our home meet on Sunday in Kaplan Arena. In the gym we are going to be focusing on the details and on mental toughness as we work hard for a gymnastics filled weekend. Tribe gym fans get ready for an exciting, jam-packed weekend! We can't wait to see our tribe gym fans come out to support us! Thank you for your continued support - we couldn't do it without you guys! Have an amazing week, and make sure to tune in this weekend; it'll be a busy one for Tribe gym!

With lots of love,

What's up Tribe Gym fans!!

37687After just having another off weekend to rest our bodies, we are so ready to compete at Penn this coming weekend! Everyone has been working super hard in the gym to tweak the little things we need to work on and we're ready to put it all together. We had a different kind of practice last Friday where we basically had pop-up pressure sets on every event and it went super well! Everyone felt that it just showed them that they have the skills and don't need to overthink their routines so much before competition.

Besides this, the semester has been off to a great start and we are already up in Swem library working hard. We have such a strong team this year and it's so exciting to watch us grow. Also shoutout Chloe Campbell for making the absolute best come-back. Anyways, we have been working consistency and details and are ready to show what we got at Penn on Sunday! Go Tribe!!!!

Much love,

Hailey

Hey Tribe fans!!!

37616The Tribe was back in action this past Friday as we had our third meet of the season at George Washington!! We were all super excited for this meet because a bunch of alumni, family and friends were coming to cheer us on! Shout out to everyone who came – we love your support and seeing you in the crowd!  We had some exciting wins with Katie Waldman, Taylor White and Bri Greenlow taking the top three finishes in all around!!  Congrats to Emma Wiley on having a great meet and being this week's unsung hero! She's been working super hard in the gym and it's paying off!

We had a great start to this season and we're continuing to build off our previous meets. I'm super excited for the rest of our season and I can't wait to see what we accomplish!! This past week, coming from an off weekend, it was nice for us to really focus on the details in the gym as well as our confidence with each routine. Everybody's been working so hard in the gym and I see improvements in everyone individually as well as a team! Shout out to Chloe Campbell on her amazing come back!! She's been doing big things in the gym this week and I'm so excited for her!

Our next meet is almost two weeks away so we have some time to keep killing it in the gym and working on our presentation and consistency. I'm so excited for the rest of season and can't wait to have so much fun with this amazing team!

Good morning gymnastics fans!!

I hope everyone's new year has been off to a great start. All of us Tribe gym girls have kicked off the new year training hard in The Burg! Before classes started this past week, nobody was here on campus other than a few other sports. However, it was so fun because we had so much free time after practice to bond as a team and do things we normally don't have time to do during the school year!

blogOne standout memory for me this past month was watching the sunset on the beach a few times. It was calming and SO pretty! I cannot be more thankful for this group of girls. I wholeheartedly know each one of us has each other's backs and that's a special thing to have.

On a different note, it has been really nice to see all of our hard work paying off, for we have had a great start to our season. We are continuing to build upon our previous performances and with a bye this past weekend, we have had time to rest and get ready to attack our next meet at George Washington this Friday. It's against GW, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia and we're PUMPED to get back out on the meet floor with so much potential every time.

Classes just started for us this past Wednesday, so everyone is back on their grind. I have a really good feeling about this semester for the Tribe in the classroom and in the gym! Side note: our team earned a 3.61 team GPA for fall semester - YAY SMART TRIBE!! Special shout out to Emma Wiley and Keaghan Schafer for getting 4.0's!

Last, but definitely not least, I would like to give a special shout out to our fans that come to support us at our meets, and specifically our families that come out to support us!! Many of our parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. drive & fly to come cheer on the Tribe and this does not go unnoticed! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy week!
AS ALWAYS, GO TRIBE & MUCH LOVE
Bri :))

Hi Tribe Fans!

37489The Tribe has been back in action as we had our second meet of the year last weekend at Towson! There were many exciting highlights of the meet as Katie Waldman scored a career-high 9.825 on beam and Bri Greenlow stuck her vault for the first time this season! Big shoutout to Taylor White for being awarded with unsung hero this week. She had an amazing meet and is always one of the loudest cheerers and motivators out on the floor. I saw so many improvements throughout this meet, and I cannot wait to watch our team grow and succeed to the best of our abilities this year.

Since last weekend we have all been back in the gym working on details and consistency with an off weekend coming up. We are really focusing on getting after our landings and being confident in every skill and routine. This is a nice time to give our bodies a little bit of a rest while focusing on cleaning up our skills in preparation for what's next. Our beloved men's team has also started their season and will be competing at Navy this weekend! It's always fun being able to watch them and have each other's support. In addition to being in the gym, we also start classes this week! It will be nice to get back in the swing of things and start this semester off with a bang.

I'm so excited for the rest of the season, and I can't wait to have so much fun this year with my Tribe!!

Much love,

Hiiii Tribe Fans!!!!

W&M women's gymnastics prior to its dual meet at UNC.I hope everyone had a lot of fun during the holidays! While most students have been spending their break at home, the Tribe has been hard at work preparing for what's to come. We have been doing a lot of team bonding fun activities throughout these last few weeks! Lauren Winkler took the freshmen to go laser tagging, we have cooked some delicious dinners, and we have all started to learn some Tik Tok dances!

We have officially begun our 2020 season with our first meet at UNC! As a freshman, I can't even describe how amazing the experience was at my first meet! The atmosphere was incredible, and it was honestly such a blast.

This past week we have been training really hard and working on consistency. At UNC, we came short to winning with UNC getting a 194.775 and the Tribe getting a 190.425. However, we did have some beautiful routines performed this Sunday. Gotta give a shout out to Bri Greenlow and Katie Waldman for getting some top three finishes. Also, a shout out to Lizzy Snoddy for hitting a beautiful floor set and nailing her beam exhibition!

Overall, the Tribe team has been working extremely hard in the gym. We are excited to get back to practice and clean up before our next meet at Towson on Friday!

Happy New Year Tribe Gym Fans!

37392 We hope everyone had an amazing time ringing in the new year and are excited for a new decade! It is officially the 2020 meet season and we are so incredibly excited to get the ball rolling. I cannot believe that my senior season is actually here, and this Sunday at UNC will be my last first meet! I feel like just yesterday I was a freshman competing in a W&M leotard for the first time, and now it's my last go around! I have loved every moment, and am going to embrace every second of this last competition season!

This week we have been doing a lot of team bonding and team meals together since we are not in classes. We went to assistant coach Brittney's house for dinner and to play games. It was so fun and even a little competitive. We have been driving down Colonial Parkway to watch the sunset and to spend quality time with the men's team as well! In addition, we have been working on our team banner together and we are so excited to unveil it at UNC this weekend. Having a team banner is an ECAC tradition and we love getting the chance to express our Tribe Pride at every meet.

Alumna, Gaby Johanek, came to Williamsburg to visit us for a weekend and it was so nice to catch up with her! We went out to brunch, walked around Colonial Williamsburg and reminisced on our memories as teammates. The freshman and junior classes played a couple rounds of laser tag which they said was a blast! We are looking forward to more team meals this week, as well as teaching the freshmen all of the team cheers before we head down to UNC! If you can't be there, catch the Facebook live stream of the competition and follow us on Instagram (@wmtribewgym)! Happy competition season, Tribe!

Good morning Tribe fans!

37358I hope you all had the best Christmas holiday. I spent Christmas with my family and it is truly the best time of the year. I love being able to spend quality time with the people I love. I have also had an amazing winter break! My mom surprised me with tickets to jingle ball in Atlanta. My favorite artists were performing and it was a highlight of my year for sure! Since being home, I have seen so many old friends and got to hang out with them. I cannot believe 2019 is basically over. And even crazier, I can't believe the decade is coming to an end. I am so thankful for everything that this year has come with. I am especially thankful for tribe gym! I absolutely adore this team and can't wait to see what 2020 holds for us! Our first meet is so soon - January 12th against UNC. I am actually from North Carolina and live about 20 minutes from UNC. I am so excited to see all my gym friends, coaches, former teammates, and family. It's gonna be a blast!

37360Throughout my time here at William & Mary, injuries have plagued me. But FINALLY in November I was cleared by my surgeon to start gymnastics again! I have been flipping for the first time in a while and I didn't realize how much I missed it. I have also realized that muscle memory is far greater than we even imagine. It's just like ridding a bike! I am coming along slowly, but surely.

The team has been working extremely hard throughout break and can't wait to show off all the hard work. Go Tribe!

Hi Tribe Gym fans!

I can't believe the semester is already over! Everyone finished up finals at different times and were able to head home right when they were done. Hailey, MG, and I were in the burg until the very last day and made the most out of being there so long. We made dinner together, dog sat the cutest dogs, and even took study breaks going Christmas shopping. Everyone survived the dreaded finals season and now is enjoying a nice break home with their families.

Tribe Gym is all over for the holidays, Evan Pakshong is in Australia and it's been so fun following all her fun adventures. Everyone else traveled home to states such as Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nebraska, Michigan, Illinois and so many more! It's been fun talking to everyone about the different weather in each location for the Holidays!

As for me, my whole family is back for the Holidays in Virginia and we've spent the days baking cookies, shopping for gifts, decorating the tree with many ornaments and traveling up to DC!

I know we are very thankful to spend the holidays at home, but also can't wait to be back in Williamsburg and jump into season. Everyone is training at home in their club gyms, but we cant wait to be back together so soon. Our first meet is January 12 and we cant wait to show off everything we've been working on!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season wherever you might be this year.

With Love,
Lauren

Hi Tribe Fans!

This is Emma Wiley again! The end of this semester has been extremely busy but very exciting. I competed in my first Green & Gold meet a couple weeks ago, which was a great learning experience. It was amazing to finally compete in Kaplan and show off what we have been doing in practice. It was definitely a different experience from club meets. I am proud of the whole team and think that we are off to a great start to the season! After the meet, finals began for all of us. This was a bit of a stressful couple of weeks, but I think all the studying was worth it. I am happy to say that I just completed my last final and am done with my first semester here! Overall, I have had a great first semester at William & Mary and am looking forward to the next one.

Now that I am home, I am ready to spend time with my friends, family, and my dog here in North Carolina. I hope that everyone has a great holiday season and is excited for the beginning of the season next year!

Go Tribe!

Hi Tribe Gym Fans!!

I just wanted to send a huge shout-out to each and every one of you who were able to came out last Friday to support both the women's and men's teams Green and Gold meet! Your energy and support really helped to motivate and push us to perform our very best and for that we thank you so much! From silly bubble heads of each of our gymnasts to homemade signs to your loud, cheerful voices, we cannot express how thankful we are for the love and inspiration we felt in Kaplan Arena!!

37285As a senior, the day was incredibly bitter-sweet as this was the start of the dreaded "first-lasts" of the competition season as this is the last Green and Gold that I will get to be a part of in my collegiate career. Though that is a hard pill to swallow, the meet last Friday not only exceeded my expectations, but completely shattered them! This 2019-2020 team is a force to be reckoned with and I am so grateful to be a part of this team and happy you all got to be o part of it as well Friday night!

First of all, I wanted to congratulate the Men's Green team for taking the W on Friday. This would mean that they have won Green and Gold for the past four years! Go Green team! This year the women's team did it a bit differently and instead of having a Green or Gold team, we competed in projected lineups! It was a great way to practice for a meet season and gain experience, and overall it went very well! We are super pleased with how the meet went!

There are a few shout-outs in order. First, a huge shout-out to both Mary Graceyn Gordon and Lauren Winkler (Juniors) for competing in their first Green and Gold and completely smashing it out of the park. Watching MG compete all-around and Lauren nail her vault really reminded me just how special season is and I cannot wait to keep going with these two into my last season. Another huge shout-out to Bri Greenlow and Emma Wiley (freshmen) for competing in their first ever Green and Gold as well. We are so proud of all the hard work you put into the gym and to see it come to fruition in your first ever appearance was such a wonderful experience. Finally, thank you to Stephanie Washburn as well as Lindsey Monteith our wonderful managers for helping to meet run as smoothly as possible. Without you that wouldn't have been possible and we are so thankful that you are a part of our team.

gymnasticsAs we wrap up this fall semester and head into exam season, we are so excited to head home for winter break to be with our families for holidays, but we are equally as excited to get back into the gym and work to perfect out skills for season when we come back to the 'Burg. Now that we know what we need to work on, we cannot wait to get back to it and fix the minor details to get us ready for the season to come!

Sad you missed the action on Friday?? If you were unable to catch the meet last Friday, you can still watch it and experience it for yourself! Hop onto the William and Mary Women's Gymnastics Facebook page and there you will see the livestreams from the past meet separated into each event! Subscribe to the page to get updates and the notification when we go live for meets! As always, thanks for reading and go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Gym Fans!!

waldmanWe are so excited to be back on campus after a much needed break with family and friends! The end of the semester is coming fast for us here at William & Mary! We only have one more week of classes before finals and our big intrasqaud on Friday. We have been preparing all semester and we are ready to be back in Kaplan Arena at 6:30 on Dec. 6.

Almost everyone on the team was able to travel home for Thanksgiving; or at least spend it with another tribe gym family!! I spent my break catching up with my family and setting up our house for Christmas! It was a blast to be back with my sister and I am thankful that winter break is so close!

Season is right around the corner and we have been working so hard in the gym! We have had two meet sims so far and both have gone well. We are on the right track to have a great season! This Friday, we will be able to see how far we have come since August and where we will be able to go before the season is over! I am so excited for this season with the tribe because I know that it is going to be amazing!

Go Tribe!

With all my love,

Hey Tribe Fans!

Wow, I cannot believe how fast this semester has flown by. Everyone has been working crazy hard in the gym to prepare for our Green and Gold intrasquad that is coming up on Dec. 6 ~GET HYPE!!~ ! It's crazy to think that this is my last Green and Gold meet along with the rest of the seniors! However, I cannot wait to see how amazing everyone is going to be out in the arena!

Over the weekend we all volunteered at the Mayflower Marathon. We helped collect canned goods and turkeys to donate for Thanksgiving. We had a blast working the morning away and were truly amazed by everyone's generosity that donated over the weekend! I am so excited for Thanksgiving coming up and wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday travels. Special shout out to the Winkler family for letting me crash their Thanksgiving festivities!

So much love for the Tribe!

Hello Tribe Gym Fans!

What a busy few weeks we have had! This past Friday we had our second meet sim of the season! Everyone has been working so hard in the gym and it was so incredible seeing our hard work pay off. Our team has so much potential and I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings us! This year we have such an incredible team dynamic, which I think is what will set us apart from our competition. Everyone is so uplifting and thoughtful and genuinely cares so much about every single girl on the team. We also got to host our awesome incoming recruits who will be joining our team in the fall next year! After practice we all got together for a team dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant to welcome the girls and get to know them better. Not only did they get to cheer us on in the gym, but we also got to watch the Tribe basketball team get their huge win on Friday night. We also got to explore our beautiful campus and walk around Colonial Williamsburg to shop and snack a little!

This year is already flying by! Before we all leave for Thanksgiving, our plan is to have a team Friendsgiving with lots of good food and awesome people. I can't wait to cook again for these awesome girls! Also, over Thanksgiving break I get to go back to the doctor for my knee, and will hopefully be cleared to start more gymnastics!! The past few weeks I have also been working hard with our awesome trainers doing more intense rehab and have started doing some more gymnastics related things during practice! We have also been able to start to get to know our new wonderful assistant coach Brittney, and her super creative coaching style!

Last but not least, we just released the link to our annual winter apparel fundraiser with some super cute new Tribe Gym gear, so make sure to stock up for meet season!!!

So much love & Go Tribe!!

Tribe gym is still busy as ever both in the gym and around campus. Although midterms have been consuming our time, and we are beginning to prep for finals, there are a few MAJOR highlights that keep us going. Last week we had pressure sets on every event, where we showcased our routines and gained confidence in both ourselves and our team. This is all in preparation for another meet simulation on Friday (the 15th) where we will exhibit all our hard work in all four events. Moreover, we have our official visits this weekend for our class of 2024 and we are all SO EXCITED to show them the Tribe ways! Best part is that they are coming during a beautiful season in Williamsburg and they will be able to see the beautiful trees changing colors.

Lastly, we are so close to season! There is less than a month until Green & Gold!!! We are all ecstatic to see all our family and friends in the stands… and even some of our own faces #fatheads? #GETEXCITED. I hope you all are having an amazing Fall and thank you for being such loyal Tribe Gym fans!

With love,

Hey Tribe Gym fans!

My name is Amanda Jackson, and I am one of the freshmen this year from Illinois! I hope everyone is having a great fall so far. Down here in the Burg it's been a busy time recently, and time has really been flying by - it's already almost November! In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break, everyone's going to be super busy with school and practices, but our girls are determined and hard workers, so I know we will all push through. Things in the gym have been going well, we have been continuing to work hard and prepping for an amazing season!

This past week in the gym one day we had a nice team bonding activity where we got into groups and choreographed short dances and performed them to a song of head coach Kelsey's choice. It was a lot of fun, and we were able to work on our performing skills, so be ready to see us showing it off a little extra on floor this season! Also, this past weekend a lot of us girls got together and had a nice night in with dinner and a movie. It was a great bonding experience and we all had a lot of fun. Shout out to fellow freshman Keaghan Schafer on her amazing cooking skills!

Coming up this week, there will be a lot of studying for the tail end of midterms and a lot of hard work in the gym as well, but like always, our team will be having fun while we do it!  Also, this week is Halloween, so all you Tribe Gym fans should be on the lookout on social media for pictures of all our costumes! And, as always, follow us on social media for updates on things in and out of the gym! Until next time, and thank you for reading!

Lots of love,

What's up Tribe Gym Fans!

It's been such a great start to the year and I absolutely love this team. Midterm season has finally begun so we have all been very busy with school work these past couple weeks. However, we have also been looking amazing in the gym!

We had our first meet sim this past Friday and we had some really nice sets. We of course still have plenty of room for improvement, but I thought that overall it was a great meet sim day for how early in the season it is. Friday was also extra special because it was homecoming weekend and we had all of our alums in the gym during the meet sim cheering us on, which was so much fun! It was so great to get to see all of our past teammates and talk to the older alums.

We just released our 2019-2020 meet schedule and we are so excited to get this season started. In only a little over a month we will have our annual Green and Gold meet, which is our intrasquad. We are working really hard in the gym and are super pumped to show everyone what we got this year!!

So much love,

teamIt's been a super busy these last few weeks in the burg, but it's finally fall break!!  We have a four-day long weekend and many of us used it to take a quick trip home to see friends and family, while some of us are just chilling here in the burg. I've decided to stay here and relax since driving home to New York is a bit of a hassle. A lot of us just finished exams in all our classes, so it's been really nice to just relax and take a little break from school work every day.

This week has also been very eventful for us!  Everyone's been looking really great in the gym and practice has been super fun with all the great energy in the gym.  Thursday was very exciting because we had team picture day! We took them in front of the beautiful Wren building and I can't wait to see how they turn out (everyone looked gorgeous as usual)!!

To make this past week even more exciting, on Friday we found out that Kelsey is having a baby girl!!!! We had the cutest reveal party with lots of balloons and everyone's even more thrilled for the baby to come! Most of us were convinced it was a boy, but I knew it was a girl!  Congrats Kelsey, we're all super excited for you!

Looking forward to a nice short week and hearing about everyone's fall break!  Make sure to stay updated with our team Instagram for more exciting events!

XOXO,

It has been an extremely eventful past few weeks here in The Burg! My name is Bri Greenlow, and I'm an incoming freshman on the team this year. I'm from Georgia, so I'm currently preparing for the winter now as it gets colder here. I had to buy a winter coat. That was new for me! But beyond that, colder weather means we're getting closer to COMP SEASON :))!!

35840Official practices have been in full swing and I've got to say, we have been GRINDING! I think this year is going to be a great one and the energy in our gym certainly is getting everyone pumped up for season! The acclimation from club to college has been a challenge, but our amazing seniors, as well as our other teammates, have made the transition as easy as possible. I couldn't be more thankful for the group of girls I get to spend every day with. We really are ONE FAMILY, One Tribe!

As far as school goes, everyone has been killing it in the classroom this year. We have fall break this upcoming week, so that will be a nice time for all of us to get a little break before midterms. I'll actually be going back to Georgia for a short little vaca and I'm beyond excited to see all of my family, friends, and old teammates! I know some of the other girls are able to go home, as well, and for the ones staying here, I know they have some eventful things planned. Parents weekend just happened, too. I know it was really nice for all of us to spend some time with family. We even had a tribe gym tailgate at the senior girls' house full of some good food, great weather, & entertaining football throwing shenanigans. It was such a quality day.

I can't wait to see what else this year has in store for us - it's going to be an exciting one.

Endless love to our fans & GO TRIBE,

Hey Tribe Fans!

We've been in official practice for a few weeks now and everyone is looking so good in the gym! All of us are working very hard this pre-season and pushing ourselves every day in the gym. Special shoutout to all of our freshmen who have integrated so well into this team and have been looking incredible in the gym! Abby Carpenter twisted her huge yurchenko full on vault yesterday and Bri Greenlow has been super solid on beam. Although it is far away, I cannot wait to start season and for all of us to show off what we've got!

Outside of the gym, everyone has been studying and gearing up for midterms that are upon us.  We also have parents weekend coming up, so it will be nice for all of us to spend time with family and friends. On a personal note, I became the owner of two adorable guinea pigs last week and I am very excited about them! I was able to bring them into morning conditioning so the team could meet them and hopefully love them as much as I do!

Looking forward to another great week of practice! Make sure to follow us on Instagram so you can stay updated on our team and exciting events we have coming up!

Much love & Go Tribe!!

Hey Tribe Gym fans!

35571I can't believe it has already been almost a month of classes! My name is Abby Carpenter, and I am a freshie on the team this year. These past few weeks have been crazy busy but some of the best times of my life. We just finished our first week of official practice, and it was very intense, but exciting! The vibe the team gives off once the clock hits 2:15 and the music starts playing is indescribable. It is difficult to adjust to such a fast paced, fierce practice style, but all of us freshies are so grateful for all of the support from the upperclassmen. The team has truly been amazing and so welcoming to all of us. We all get along so well and I am ready for a great year!

Besides official practice, classes have been kicking into full force. We have daily homework study sessions at Swem library or we just jam to music and work in the team locker room. We have also volunteered at a triathlon, gone to some football games, and just bonded as a new team. Us freshman are all so close, we are always together. I am so ready to keep working hard before season starts and I can't wait to see what's to come!

Much love for all Tribe Gym fans,

Abby Carpenter

Happy Monday Tribe Gym fans!

It feels great to be back in the burg and back together with the whole team! The hectic days trying to fill schedules and add/drop classes are over, finally! The past few weeks have gone by and classes are now in full swing. We are working hard to learn all the new information and get back to the grind.

Today is the first day of official practice and everyone is pumped! We all have been working so hard during the off season and can't wait to show it all off. Before today, we have had open gym during the week to prepare for official practice. In the gym, the team has been working on getting all the skills down and ready to put in a routine. There are some new skills and combos, as well as old skills that we are working on perfecting. Watching these skills in the gym is so exciting! We had a couple weeks of morning conditioning, which was challenging but rewarding. Everyone is stronger now because of it.

The six new additions to the team have been adjusting so well to the new environment and have been looking so strong in the gym. It is so nice to finally meet them all and get to know them. They have brought a great new energy that keeps each day exciting. We can't wait to see them competing for the tribe in January!

I am so excited for this year- it is going to be a great one!

Go tribe!

Love

35395It has been an eventful two weeks since classes have started and everyone is finally acclimated with their class schedules. I am so sentimental that I am already a senior, and I find myself wishing I was a freshman again. These past three years have gone by incredibly quick, but I would not change a thing. We started morning conditioning this past week as well, which has been challenging but encouraging to see everyone working so hard. Last weekend we all went to the first home football game together. It has been so awesome getting to know our freshmen and watching them create bonds with one another that will last a lifetime. They are an incredible group of young ladies that bring so much energy and positivity to our team.

This weekend we volunteered at the Patriot Sprint Triathlon in Jamestown. The triathlon is one of our favorite events to volunteer for because we get to direct and cheer on athletes who have worked so hard to complete the course. Chloe and I got to direct incoming runners to the finish line and watching their faces light up when they saw the finish was so incredible. These athletes are all so inspiring to us, and we love the opportunity to make their race day go as smoothly as possible.

In addition, sorority recruitment is underway on our campus, and a lot of us are participating in our chapter's recruitment process. Hailey, Evan, and I are all members of William & Mary's chapter of Chi Omega and we love talking to new girls and helping them find where they belong in greek life. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be involved in Chi Omega, as it offers an outlet to make fresh friendships outside of athletics. Chi Omega has rounded out my college experience, and I am so thankful to have been a part of it the past two years.

Official practice will begin on Sept. 16, and we are so excited to get the ball rolling on what I know is going to be a tremendous year!

XOXO,

Hey Tribe Fans!

I can't believe it's already September. I am so excited about the freshmen being here and getting to know them better. I can't believe it's already my junior year, I feel like I just moved into my freshman dorm yesterday. Last week was the first time everyone was in the gym together and it was so fun to have the energy in there and seeing the freshmen's new skills. We started classes last Wednesday and welcomed the freshmen during Convocation. It's always one of my favorite traditions of the year. Getting to watch them come out of Wren with the whole student body cheering is such a special moment. After we took our big team picture with the guys team! Everyone is already studying and working hard to succeed this year in the classroom.

This past weekend our team attended the first football game of the season. It was fun cheering them on and seeing the team start out with a win! This week we also started our early morning conditioning to prepare us for the year ahead! I am excited to see what is in store for us. I know this year is going to be special!

Much love,

Hello Tribe Gym Fans!

I hope everyone had a great summer! This is Emma Wiley and I am a freshman on the team this year. This has been a very exciting past week, as the other freshmen and I finally got to come to Williamsburg and move into our dorms! We got to meet up with the rest of the team at Sweet Frog before move-in, and it was amazing to finally see everyone all together! After move-in, my schedule has been packed with orientation activities. We have been touring the campus and learning about opportunities at William & Mary.

Although it was sad to say goodbye to my friends and family in North Carolina, it has been fun to meet all the amazing new people here! I'm excited to finally get in the gym and begin training for the upcoming season, it will definitely be a great year! Before all the move-in activities, I had a fun summer break as well. I spent a week at the beach in Florida and got to meet my roommate, who is on the volleyball team here at W&M. I also spent a lot of time lifeguarding at my local pool.

I can't wait for all the new experiences at William and Mary, and I am ready to have a great year!

What is UP Tribe gym Fans! My name is Taylor and I cannot believe our wonderful freshmen are moving in THIS Friday! I can still remember how it felt to move in my freshman year and now I am a senior! It's insane how fast time flew by. But, I guess time flies when you are having fun!

34243My summer had been full of fun adventures since my last blog! I got the wonderful opportunity to see family while still volunteering at Rock Steady Boxing— a boxing facility that specializes in boxing classes for people who have Parkinson's or any other gait and balance disorders that could benefit from the classes. I have even had the opportunity to draft and lead my own class!

A few weeks ago, I got to visit my twin sister, Morgan, in her neck of the woods at Virginia Tech. We hiked the Natural Bridge as well as other hikes in the area and also got to visit the zoo!! It was a wonderful time seeing her and I miss her so much already! The weekend after I hopped into the car yet again and drove down to North Carolina to see my little sister, Olivia, down in Charlotte! Days were full of playing in the pool, making our own spices from the garden as well as makeup attempts on my face as well as my dad's! It was a wonderful time— my abs are STILL sore from laughing so hard!

Things in the Burg have been amazing! People are trickling back as school is just around the corner! It's so lovely to have familiar faces back around! You don't realize how much you've missed them until you see them for a while! People are bustling around getting items that they need for school as well as moving into their respective apartments!

Gym has been going great with more people in the gym! I have been training everyday— working on my strength and perfecting routines as well as fun new things like a maybe a new floor routine?? Stay tuned for more updates during preseason!

I cannot WAIT until we get to see our lovely freshmen at our Sweet Frog Welcome this Thursday as well as helping them move in this Friday to their dorms! I am beyond excited for what this year has to bring with their beautiful shining faces and with Kelsey leading the team! We are working hard and cannot wait to show you what we have in store for you this season!

As always, thanks for reading and GO TRIBE!!

Summer is almost over and it's been a busy one for me! I started my summer by studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa with Hailey Haycox. It was a super fun experience and I learned a lot about their culture! After I got back, I took a trip with my family to California to go to the Disneyland parks. It was great to be able to spend quality time with them since I don't see them very much throughout the year. After Disney I was able to really focus on my training as I headed off to Flip Fest to coach for 3 weeks!

I head back to the 'burg tomorrow to join Elizabeth Snoddy, Taylor White and Caroline Caponi, who have already made it back! Everyone else is savoring time with their family and friends back home before heading back soon! Lauren Winkler is visiting her sisters, and Hailey Haycox and Evan Pakshong are both attending music festivals before they travel back! I can't wait to see everyone again and I am so excited get back and train under our new head coach, Kelsey Hinton!

Hey Tribe fans!

Wow I cannot believe how fast that summer has gone by! It seems like just yesterday that summer started.

This summer I have been interning at The PetSmart Corporate home office in Phoenix, Arizona with the Loss Prevention and Safety department. More specifically with the investigations and corporate security teams that fall under Loss Prevention. I've been working on a project for most of my internship there and am presenting it to all the senior leadership members of PetSmart on Friday!  I also get to pet dogs all day because you are allowed to bring your dog to work, which is pretty awesome!

I know I can speak for everyone in saying that I cannot wait until all of the team is back in Williamsburg, and we are especially excited for the freshmen to be coming!

In other team news, rising senior Taylor White went to visit her family in North Carolina this past weekend. Caroline Caponi, another rising senior, went to a wedding over the past weekend for an old club teammate and danced the night away with old friends! And last but certainly not least, Evan Pakshong is going to a festival this coming weekend.

So excited to be back in the 'Burg soon!

Hello Tribe Fans!!!

33992I hope everyone has been enjoying their summers! So this summer didn't quite go as planned for me, because I had surgery on my ACL at the end of May. However I have been keeping busy at Physical Therapy three days a week, and conditioning in the gym as much as possible! Because this is one of my first serious injuries I was initially pretty discouraged, but I'm so ready to continue to heal and get back to doing what I love… GYMNASTICS:) Although I won't be back to training for a while, I'm excited to play my own unique role to help out the team in any way I can!

After I was healed up from surgery, I got to see a ton of my family and friends at my graduation party, which was so much fun! A few of my friends and I went to see Thomas Rhett in concert in the beginning of July which was absolutely incredible, and I plan on going to see Florida Georgia Line this week! My family and I have been getting away a few weekends up to our place at Deep Creek Maryland where we have been hiking, swimming and enjoying nature together! To finish up the summer, I have plans to shadow a few surgeries next week at Forbes Hospital, and I could not be more excited!!

My mom and I went on a shopping spree to Target to get everything I needed to be prepared for move in day! I am SUPER excited to head down to Williamsburg and get to know so many new people! Can't wait to officially be part of the Tribe!!!

Hello Tribe fans and fam,

Happy one month till freshman welcome - how is that even possible?!  I am absolutely ecstatic to get to know our new teammates. Already, we've been updating with one another in a huge group chat and it's all great vibes… TRIBE VIBES ONLY.

I have been spending my summer interning at an advertising agency called Hawthorne in Los Angeles. It's been an AMAZING experience and I am so pleased to say that I am using a variety of skills that I learned from William & Mary, school really does pay off! But even better, I get to work with amazing people who can teach me so much more about marketing and business intelligence.

Meanwhile, Bri Greenlow is on a mission trip in Honduras and Caroline Caponi is cliff diving in Maine … I'm so impressed by my teammates :)  Katie Waldman is coaching with Tribe Men's team Reid Ross and Collin Lillie at FlipFest in TN.

There has been great talk about training and everyone is super positive about the upcoming season, so I am thrilled to start training with everyone again. A good number of us are already in Williamsburg, but for those who aren't, we will be heading back soon to prepare for preseason and move in. I will be back mid-August to be an Orientation Aide (the obnoxious people in the yellow shirts that show the new students around before school actually starts) - it's an amazing experience and I can't wait to meet the amazing incoming students. As much as I am devastated that this year will be the start of many "lasts" I couldn't ask for a better team to share these memories with! See you all soon!!

Love,

Hey tribe fans!

Happy summer and happy (almost) one month until Freshman Welcome! The fact that this gym blog is the first of only a few left for senior year is absolutely crazy and scary. Regardless, I miss my Tribe endlessly and cannot wait to be back on campus and welcoming our new freshmen!

This summer I am working in NYC at an Advertising Agency called Havas! It's been an incredible experience living in NY and working the 9-5 life; I love the company I'm at and am learning a lot. Aside from me, Caroline is CPR certified now (how cool!) and is visiting family up in Maine. Chloe is also up in those neck of the woods in Bowdoinham! Out west a bit, our beloved Katie Waldman is working at Flip Fest alongside Reid and Collin on our Tribe men's team. To wrap things up for our wonderful summer adventures, Bri Greenlow (rising freshman) is in Honduras on a mission trip.

Everyone is training hard though and doing all we can to prep for a great season. I'm excited to see what this year holds for us and for all of the amazing traditions our team and the school has coming up. Have an amazing rest of the summer!

Best,
Erika

Hey Tribe fans!!

33938It's been quite a crazy summer for me! I just got back from South Africa about three weeks ago, where I had an internship working for a non-profit called Great Commission united! It was such an incredible and rewarding opportunity to work with such a great program. I not only got to work with the NGO, but we also went on tons of excursions including hiking Table Mountain, a wildlife safari, and shark cage diving!

I am now back in the 'Burg and I just started my Spanish class last Monday. It's a very hard class but I'm loving being here with some of the team. Mary Graceyn and I moved again into a new apartment, but we love the location of our new one and are working on making it nice and homey. For the people who are here, we are mainly just hanging out, studying, and working hard in the gym. Most of us who studied abroad are back in the States now, and we still have some interning for the summer!

As we have been showing on our Instagram, everyone has been working some really cool upgrades and are ready for this new season! Mary Graceyn has made a nice comeback from her ankle surgery and Lauren Winkler is making so much progress as well, which is so great to watch happen! The summer is about halfway over now, but I am so excited to welcome our new freshmen soon and get the whole team back together!

Much love and Go Tribe!

Hailey

Hey Tribe Fans!!

33934I can't believe it's already July!! It's crazy how fast the summer is flying by!  After finals I traveled home to Long Island, NY and got to catch up with some friends and family. I was really excited to get home just in time to send my sister off to prom, and she looked beautiful! It was really nice to spend some quality time with my sister while I was home.

Some of the girls have just gotten back from studying abroad and it's been so cool to see all their pictures.  I've heard from them about how great of an experience it is and I can't wait do it in the future!

I also just got back to Williamsburg for my summer class, Physiology. It's been really exciting because I just moved into my new apartment with Samantha Sakti (Chloe Campbell will be joining us soon:)).  It's been really fun setting up all our stuff and putting it together. We even hung up our team banner from last year in our living room.  I also can't wait to spend some time with my teammates over the summer while in Williamsburg.

I'm so excited for the rest of the summer and can't wait to welcome the new freshmen in August!!

Lots of Love,
Caileigh Gulotta
