WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- Fresh off a weekend sweep, the Tribe will travel to Blacksburg Tuesday afternoon looking to build on a four-game winning streak. First pitch between William & Mary and Virginia Tech will be tossed at 4:00 p.m.
Historically, Virginia Tech has gotten the better of the Green and Gold, but the Tribe has won six of the last eight contests between the two teams. The programs did not meet last season, but the Hokies won a narrow 10-8 ballgame in Blacksburg in 2018.Â
Â
During the Tribe's four-game win streak the team has produced 39 runs. Overall, the team has put up at least 10 runs in five of the first 16 games of the season. W&M leads the CAA and ranks 30th in the NCAA with 112 runs scored in 2020.
Â
Helping provide the offense has been junior second baseman,
Matt McDermott. The New Jersey native swatted seven hits in five ball games last week. McDermott smashed three doubles, scored four runs, knocked in seven, and stole a pair of bases over the five-game stretch.Â

Freshman
Ben Williamson had a breakout week for the Tribe with seven hits in the five-game stretch. The infielder notched a pair of doubles, scored five times, and knocked in three runs in the Tribe's 4-1 week.Â
Â
Virginia Tech enters Tuesday's contest with a 9-5 mark on the year coming off a 2-2 week. The game will mark the last road contest for the Tribe in two weeks. Each of W&M's following seven ballgames will be at Plumeri Park.
