UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Collin Lillie won a share of the vault title at No. 8 Penn State on Saturday afternoon, but the William & Mary men's gymnastics team fell to the Nittany Lions, 403.75-381.1.
In addition to Lillie, a pair of W&M standouts –
Andrew Lyubovsky and
Christian Marsh – also posted top-three finishes on parallel bars and rings, respectively.
W&M best collective performance came on vault where it matched its season high with a 69.75.
Event Recaps
Floor, 65.65 – W&M nearly equaled its season high on floor and was led by
Kevin Portofee, who finished fourth with a season-high 13.5.
Zane Petras also earned a season-best score in the event (13.3).
Pommel Horse, 60.25 – Marsh was the Tribe's top scorer on pommel horse and earned a career-high 13.3 to place fifth.
Rings, 61.95 – Marsh also led the way on rings and tied for third with a career-best 13.4.
Vault, 69.75 – Led by Lillie's winning performance, W&M equaled its best team score of the season on vault.

Andrew Lyubovsky (13.85),
Aidan Cuy (13.8, career high) and Portofee (13.8, career high) also contributed to the impressive team total.
Parallel Bars, 62.55 – Lyubovsky recorded the Tribe's best score on parallel bars and placed second with a 13.35.
High Bar, 60.95 – Lyubovsky just missed out on a top-three finish on high bar with a 12.7, while Cuy posted a 12.45.

W&M will return to action when it hosts Springfield for its home opener on Feb. 23 at Kaplan Arena. The meet will be a double dual with the Tribe women's team, which will host West Chester.
