SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The William & Mary men's gymnastics team placed third at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Springfield on Saturday afternoon.
Navy claimed the team title with a 401.15 and was followed by Army (390.65), W&M (388.55), Springfield (383.15) and UIC (373.65).
Highlighting the Tribe's individual performances was
David Watkins, who claimed a share of the rings title with a 13.85.
In total, six Tribe standouts combined to garner seven all-conference accolades in various events, while
Jacopo Gliozzi was selected as Co-Senior Gymnast of the Year with Army's Cole Casanova.
In addition to his gymnast of the year honor, Gliozzi earned all-conference accolades in two events – pommel horse (13.9) and rings (13.3) – by placing third and fifth, respectively.
David Allen and
Tim O'Neill also posted outstanding performances with top-three finishes and placed tied for second and third on high bar (13.25) and vault (14.15), respectively.
Also earning all-conference distinction was
Cutter Fugett, who tied for fourth on floor (14.0), and
Collin Lillie, who tied for fifth on vault (14.05).
