NEWARK, Del. – Delaware's Joey Silan and Derek Wakely combined to shutout the William & Mary baseball team 1-0 in the series opener in Newark on Friday night. With the decision, the Tribe falls to 20-8, 4-3 in Colonial Athletic Association play, while the Blue Hens improve to 9-19, 3-4 in league action.
Delaware broke the scoreless tie with a run in the home half of the sixth inning. Jack Goan and Zach Lesher sandwiched singles around a fly out, before Austin Colmery walked to load the bases. Kevin Mohollen looped a single just over the second baseman's head to give the Blue Hens the 1-0 lead.
W&M had multiple chances to get on the board, but couldn't muster on a run in the ball game. The Tribe loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the first inning, but the Blue Hens got out of the jam. In the sixth, both senior

Matthew Trehub reached to start the inning, but Wakeley came on to get the final three outs of the frame, before the Blue Hens scored game's only run.
