SENIOR YEAR / 2019

JUNIOR YEAR / 2018
Earned career-bests of 41 starts and 43 appearances…Honored as a W&M Provost Award Winner…Finished his junior season with 30 hits five doubles and 10 RBI…Led the team with a .273 (11-for-39) batting average with two outs…Owned a team-best .355 on base percentage…Opened the season with a 2-for-4 outing at then-ranked No. 12 Clemson (2/16)…Capped the Clemson series (2/18) with a double and run scored…Pushed across a pair of runs against in-state rival VCU (2/20)…Posted a season-high three hits and added an RBI during a rubber match win over High Point (3/4)…Drove in a pair of runs to help W&M edge Campbell (3/9)…Drew three walks in back-to-back games vs. Maryland (4/3) and George Washington (4/4)…Enjoyed a 2-for-3 performance with a RBI as the Green and Gold rallied past Old Dominion (4/10)…Drilled two hits with a double at Elon (5/17).

SOPHOMORE YEAR / 2017
Saw action in 39 games and made 22 starts...Owned a .323 batting average (32-for-99), including four doubles, a home run and seven RBI…Posted a .407 on base percentage…Tallied 11 multi-hit games…Recorded first double of the season in a win over Lafayette (2/21)…Drove in a run during his first start of the season against Dayton (3/4)…Had a base hit and scored a run to help W&M pick up a CAA win at UNCW (3/26)…Collected four hits, two RBI and a double during a three-game series at Delaware (4/1-2), earning his first couple of multi-hit efforts…Finished 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored in a victory over CAA rival Elon (4/8)…Went 2-for-4 at in-state rival Old Dominion (4/11)…Doubled twice as part of a 3-for-6 effort and platted a run during an eight-run comeback win at in-state foe Richmond (4/18)…Belted a pair of hits and scored a couple of runs to help W&M complete a three-game sweep of James Madison (4/23)…Finished 2-for-4 and notched a RBI in a win at in-state rival George Mason (4/26)…Reached in every plate appearance in his start at Hofstra (5/19), finishing 2-for-2 and drawing a pair of walks…Finished the CAA Tournament (5/25-26) 5-for-15 (.333 batting average) with a RBI and his first career home run.

FRESHMAN YEAR / 2016
Saw action in 21 games with six starts during his rookie campaign … Finished the season with a .214 batting average (6-for-28) … Added a double, two RBI, and five runs scored … Boasted a .405 on-base percentage thanks to drawling four walks, and five hit by pitches … Made his collegiate debut with a pinch-hit RBI single against Charlotte (2/21) … Earned his first collegiate start and picked up a base hit at Cal State Northridge (3/10) … Scored his first career run against Georgetown (4/1) … Picked up a base hit in a pinch-hitting opportunity at Old Dominion (4/6) … Started all three games of a CAA sweep at Northeastern picking up a pair of hits over the weekend and scoring a run … Notched his first extra base hit with a double in a start against Towson (5/7) … Scored two runs in the Tribe’s win at College of Charleston (5/20) … Drove in a run in the Tribe’s ninth inning rally in the first game of the CAA Championship when he was hit by a pitch against UNCW (5/28).

HIGH SCHOOL
Played three years of varsity baseball at James Madison High School in Vienna, Virgina … Helped lead his high school team to the state championship as a senior … Tabbed as the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award … Earned James Madison High School’s Scholar Athlete Award as  a senior … Named To the First-Team All-State as an outfielder following his senior year … Earned Washington Post All-Met Honorable Mention honors in 2015 … Named to the All-6A North Region First Team and All-Conference First Team following his junior and senior season … His team won the Liberty conference all three years he was on the team … Named a team captain as a senior … Played his club ball with the Stars Travel Baseball team … Member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, and Spanish Club during high school.

Son of Larry and Nancy Socher … Father, Larry, played rugby at Dartmouth … Older brother, Ben, is a junior on the Dartmouth baseball team … Undecided on his major at W&M … Enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and snowboarding during his spare time.
