The William & Mary women's swimming team wrapped up action at the Janis Hape Dowd Nike Invitational on Sunday night, winning one of its three events and also earning yet another personal-best. For the week, the Tribe totaled nine personal-best marks.
- Senior
Abby Jones (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) finished her weekend with the team's first win, timing 2:04.97 to take gold in the 200 back. Sophomore
Tess Ruona (Medford, N.J.) was fourth overall in 2:11.97.
- In the 100 free, senior
Nina Lesser (Centerport, N.Y.) took fifth overall in 53.77 seconds, just ahead of her classmate
Emily Schroeder (West Windsor, N.J.) who was sixth overall in 54.22 seconds. Junior
Emma Herold (Kohler, Wisc.) touched the wall in 55.13 seconds, finishing in eighth place.
- Finishing out the night was the 200 fly, where freshman
Rebecca Rogers (Richmond, Va.) swam a lifetime-best by nearly two seconds, stopping the clock in 2:02.07 for third place overall. That lifted her all the way up to fifth in school history. Junior
Yuka Kuwahara (Ashburn, Va.) was just behind her own PB pace from this morning, and finished fourth overall in 2:02.92.
Next up for William & Mary is the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, which returns to the Christiansburg (Va.) Aquatics Center from Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 20-23. The Tribe finished second last year, and will be aiming to win its third conference title in the last four seasons.
