WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Fresh off a dominating 5-1 win on Tuesday night, William & Mary men's soccer hits the road to take on Northeastern on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. from Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass., and the match will be streamed on CAA.TV.
Scouting the Tribe
- The W&M offense erupted for four second-half goals in a 5-1 rout of Delaware to close out the regular-season home slate on Tuesday night. The Tribe snapped a three-match losing streak and improved to 5-7-2 on the year.
- The Tribe moved closer to clinching a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament with its victory over Delaware. The Green and Gold sits at 3-2-1 in league action and is tied for third in the CAA standings.
- Senior
Julian Ngoh has scored three goals in the last two matches. He tallied a second-half brace in Tuesday's win over Delaware. Ngoh leads the team and ranks fourth in the CAA with 12 points. He is third in the league with five goals, including three in league action.
- Freshman
Alfredo Bozalongo registered the first three-assist match in the CAA this season on Tuesday. He is the first Tribe freshman since
Marcel Berry in 2015 to tally three helpers in a game.
- Bozalongo leads the CAA and ranks 61st nationally with five assists. His nine points in CAA play rank second in the conference.
- The Tribe's five goals against Delaware were the program's most since a 7-1 win over Northeastern in 2016 and the second most by a CAA team this season. Freshman

Tanner Shane notched the game-winner and sophomore
John Eberle added his first career goal in the second frame.
- Bozalongo and freshman
Nathan Messer garnered CAA Rookie of the Week honors earlier this season. Bozalongo received the honor on Oct. 14 after scoring two goals on free kicks, including the game-winner with 11 seconds remaining in the first OT period, in a 2-1 victory over Elon. Messer received the distinction on Sept. 30 after assisting on the game-winner against Loyola Maryland and scoring the game-winner at Charleston.
- On three occasions this season, a Tribe player has been recognized as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week. Freshman goalkeeper
Kieran Baskett garnered the distinction twice on Sept. 14 and Oct. 7, while junior back
Sam Golan received the honor on Sept. 30 after tallying a goal and an assist in a road win at Charleston.
- In each of the last 12 matches, the Tribe has started at least five freshmen. On four occasions this season, a total of six freshmen appeared in the W&M starting XI, and the Tribe is 3-1 in those contests. It is the first time W&M started six freshmen in a game since 2007.

Alexander Levengood, who netted his first career game-winner at Coastal Carolina chipping the goalkeeper from 25 yards out in the 96th minute, ranks ninth in the CAA in goals with four.
- Baskett leads the CAA in saves (57), while coming in second in shutouts (3) and third in save percentage (.722) and ranking sixth in goals against average (1.50). He is 23rd nationally in saves, as of Oct. 23.
- Baskett tallied a career-high 11 saves against UNCW, which were the most for a W&M player since 1998 when Adin Brown tallied 12 against St. John's. The total was the most in a CAA game since 2015. He was named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his efforts.
- In total, 59.7 percent of the Tribe's starts this season (92-of-154) have come from its underclassmen – freshmen and sophomores. The rookies own 71 of those starts.
Scouting Northeastern
- Northeastern enters the weekend at 5-6-3 on the year and sits in fifth in the CAA standings at 2-2-2.
- Following a 3-3 home draw with No. 16 James Madison on Oct. 5, the Huskies have dropped three-straight matches, including a 3-1 setback at Elon on Saturday.
- In CAA play, NU owns wins over Drexel, 2-1, on the road and at home against Charleston, 4-2. Along with the draw against JMU, the Huskies played Delaware to a 2-2 draw at home as well.
- The Huskies had a six-match unbeaten streak (5-0-1) from Sept. 7 through Sept. 24, but they are just 0-4-2 over their last six matches.
- As a team, NU ranks fourth in the CAA in points (62) and third in assists (20). They averaged 1.5 goals per game, while allowing 1.71 per contest.
- The trio of freshman Timothy Ernnin (5), sophomore Benjamin Klingen (4) and sophomore Ryan Massoud (4) have combined for 13 of the Huskies 21 goals.
- Ernnin is fourth in the CAA in points (12) and third in goals (5).
- Klingen and Massound both rank among the top 10 in the CAA in points and goals.
- Senior Grant Elgin and freshman Bernardo Gracindo lead the Huskies and rank sixth in the CAA in assists with three.
- Junior Noah Abrams has started nine matches in goal. He ranks fifth in the CAA with 33 saves and ninth in goals against average at 1.64.
Series History: W&M vs. Northeastern
- The Tribe leads the all-time series at 8-2-5 overall, including a 3-1-2 record in Boston.
- The Green and Gold hold a 29-16 advantage in scoring in the 15 previous meetings.
- Last season, the teams played to a 2-2 draw in Williamsburg
- W&M won the last meeting in Boston, 4-1, thanks to four first-half goals.
