WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Jan. 24, 2019)—After establishing themselves as some of the best players in the state, a trio of William & Mary football standouts earned all-state distinction by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Sophomore tight end
Nick Muse garnered first-team honors, while junior safety
Isaiah Laster and junior defensive tackle
Bill Murray earned second-team distinction.

After seeing limited playing time as a true freshman last fall, Muse emerged as one of the Colonial Athletic Association's top tight ends in 2018 and earned third-team all-conference accolades. A key component in W&M's passing game, Muse ranked second on the team in catches (30), receiving yards (453) and receiving yards per game (64.7). Additionally, he averaged 15.1 yards per catch. Highlighting his season was an eight-catch, 107-yard effort, which included a touchdown, in the win against Maine. The yardage total marked the second-best effort by a W&M tight end in the Laycock Era.

Laster emerged as one of the CAA's elite safeties this season and ranked tied for third in the conference with four interceptions. Additionally, he ranked tied for first on the team in tackles (65) and totaled five PBU and 1.5 TFL. His best performance of the season came in the win at Villanova when he recorded a pair of interceptions en route to being selected as the CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

A second-team All-CAA honoree this fall, Murray led W&M in sacks (4.5) and TFL (9.5), all of which came during conference play. Additionally, the Milington, N.J., native recorded 48 tackles, three PBU, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. A dominant force on special teams, Murray ranked tied for fourth nationally with three blocks.
