WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Like a heavyweight fight, William & Mary and Hofstra traded haymakers through three overtimes on Thursday night at Kaplan Arena. The game featured memorable moments on both sides in a rivalry that has seen quite a few through the years, but in the end, the visiting Pride (14-3, 4-0 CAA) found a way to win on the scorecards, 93-90, in another Colonial Athletic Association classic.

Nathan Knight hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to force the second extra period and his 3-point play with 16 ticks left propelled the Tribe (7-10, 3-2 CAA) into a third OT. But in the decisive extra session, Hofstra's Jalen Ray knocked down a left wing 3-pointer with 37 seconds remaining in the third and final overtime period to give the visitors the lead for good. The Pride extended the nation's fourth-longest win streak to 11 games.
Knight turned in his fourth career 30-10 double-double with 31 points on 12-of-19 shooting to go with 10 rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots. Junior
Justin Pierce made it two Tribe players with double-doubles, finishing with 24 points, 15 rebounds and a team-high six assists.
Ray came up big off the bench for Hofstra, scoring a career-high 19 points on 5-of-10 from 3-point range. He came up big in extra time though, scoring 15 of Hofstra's 24 points in the three OTs.
W&M jumped out of the gates with the game's first six points courtesy of freshman
Chase Audige, and the Tribe led for the majority of the opening 20 minutes. Hofstra though closed the first half on a 15-2 run thanks in part to Knight picking up his second foul and led 38-28 at the intermission.
The Pride's extended run spanning both halves reached 20-3 as they scored five of the first six to start the second. The lead reached its largest at 43-29 just 43 seconds into the half on a Tareq Coburn 3-pointer. W&M answered with 12-straight points as part of a 15-2 run, narrowing the gap to 45-44 just four and a half minutes into the second half, setting up a punch-counterpunch close.
W&M scored the final six points of regulation, including a
Matt Milon 3-pointer with 33.5 seconds remaining to tie the game and force overtime. In the first OT, Wright-Foreman scored all six of Hofstra's points, and the Pride led 75-72 with just 3.8 seconds remaining. Following a timeout, Audige threw a length of the court pass to the top of the key, where Knight caught, turned and knocked down an equalizer 3-pointer with 0.1 seconds remaining to force another extra period.
Knight again came up big in the second OT period, scoring W&M's final five points. His old-fashion 3-point play with 16 seconds remaining sent the game to a third extra frame. It was W&M first triple-OT game since 2009.

Ray stepped to the front for the Pride, knocking down a left-wing triple to give the visitors the lead for good with 37 ticks left.
