Scouting the Tribe
W&M dropped to 4-3-2 on the year and 0-1-1 in CAA play with its 2-1 setback against nationally-ranked UNCW on Saturday. All three of the Tribe's losses have come by one-goal decisions to teams ranked in the national top 20. The Green and Gold fell to current No. 5 North Carolina, 3-2, and No. 20 Michigan, 1-0, both on the road. Freshman
Sam Golan gave W&M a 1-0 lead over UNCW on Saturday with a 28th-minute goal off an assist from junior
Remi Frost. Unfortunately, the Seahawks scored twice in the final 15 minutes off corner kicks to pull out the win. Earlier in the week, the Tribe tallied a 1-0 overtime win at Longwood on a 98th-minute golden goal from junior
Antonio Bustamante. Senior
William Eskay set up Bustamante with a nice run through midfield on the counter, before feeding the game-winning breakaway chance. The Green and Gold has shutout three of its last five opponents and owns four clean sheets on the season. The Tribe's 44.4 shutout percentage ranks 41st nationally. As a team, W&M also ranks 33rd in shots per game (14.0) and 32nd in corners per game (6.11). Bustamante leads the Green and Gold with three goals on the year, all in the last four games, while both Eskay and junior
Ryder Bell have two apiece. Eskay tops the Tribe with three assists on the season. Senior goalkeeper
