W&M won its second-straight match on Wednesday night, upending Elon, 1-0. With the victory, the Green and Gold evened its CAA ledger at 2-2-2, improving to 6-4-3 overall. Graham Guidry scored on a volley from eight yards out off a cross from sophomore
Julian Ngoh. It was Guidry's second goal of the season and second game-winner, which leads the Tribe and ranks second in the CAA. The assist was Ngoh's second of the year and second in as many home games. The Green and Gold started its recent win streak with a dominating 4-1 road win at Northeastern on Oct. 7. Bustamante, who was named the CAA Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday, Eskay, Bell and Trott all rank among the top 10 in the CAA in both goals and points. Phil Breno, who tallied his fifth shutout of the season on Wednesday, has played every minute in goal for the Green and Gold, sporting a goals against average of 1.11 to go 31 saves. Three of the Tribe's four setbacks (No. 4 North Carolina, No. 15 UNCW and No. 24 Michigan) this season have come to teams currently ranked among the national top 25.
Scouting Hofstra
Hofstra enters Saturday's match with W&M on a two-match winning streak following victories over Delaware, 1-0, and Drexel, 3-1. The Pride is 3-4-6 overall and 2-0-4 in CAA play. After tying their first four CAA games, Oscar Ramsay's goal in the 61st minute gave the Pride a 1-0 victory over Delaware and moved them into second place in the CAA standings. Ramsay made it three goals in two games with a pair in the win over Drexel. In CAA play, Hofstra owns two shutouts to go with a goals against average of 0.58. With his recent outburst, Ramsay leads Hofstra in goals with three, while Danny Elliott tops the squad with seven points on two goals and three assists. Matthew Vowinkel owns a pair of goals as well scoring in back-to-back 1-1 road draws at Northeastern and James Madison. Offensively, the Pride has scored nine goals in 13 games. Alex Ashton has played nearly every minute in goal for Hofstra, posting a GAA of 1.06 to go with four shutout and 40 saves.
Series History: W&M vs. Hofstra
- The Tribe leads the all-time series with the Pride at 10-7-3, including an 8-3-1 record in Williamsburg. W&M has out scored Hofstra, 29-24, over the 20 games in the series.
- Last season, the teams split matches in Hempstead. Hofstra posted a 2-1 regular season win, before the Tribe claimed a CAA Semifinal victory over the regular season champions, 3-1.

- Overall, W&M currently ranks either first or second in every offensive category in the CAA. The Green and Gold lead the league in assists (1.69), corner kicks (5.85), and shots (13.23) per game to go along with total assists (22) and total points (62). The Tribe is second in the league in points per game (4.77), scoring offense (1.54) and total goals (20).
- Nationally, W&M is 23rd in total assists, 34th in total points, 35th corner kicks per game, 40th in assists per game, 40th in total goals, and 57th in points per game.

- All four players rank among the top 10 in the CAA in points and goals. Bustamante leads the CAA in points (14), goals (5) and assists (4).
- Eskay and Bell are tied for the CAA lead in assists (4), while ranking third in points (10) and seventh in goals (3). Trott is third in the league in goals (4) and sixth in points (9).
- In three of the Tribe's last four CAA games, Trott has scored a goal. His three goals in league play lead the CAA.
Oct. 18 Game with Virginia Tech to be Televised on Cox
- The Tribe announced an exclusive linear broadcast partnership with Cox Communications in Virginia for its Oct. 18 home game with Virginia Tech earlier this week. The match carries a 7 p.m., start time from Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
- The game will be available throughout Hampton Roads on Yurview Virginia, Cox's channel 1011, while additional outlets include Fairfax County (1074), Fredericksburg (1077) and Roanoke (1009). Other markets will also be included and will be announced closer to game day.
- The multi-camera HD production will also be streamed on Tribe Athletics TV via Stretch Internet. It will be part of the extensive CAA.TV broadcast lineup that allows fans to watch with custom applications on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
Bustamante Earns Second CAA Player of the Week
- Junior
Antonio Bustamante was named the CAA Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. He factored in all four Tribe goals in the road win at Northeastern with a goal and three assists.
- Bustamante is the first CAA athlete to earn multiple player of the week awards this season. He was named the player of the week on Sept. 18 following goals against both top-10 North Carolina and Campbell. Last season, he garnered the distinction on Oct. 3, 2016 after posting a hat trick against Northeastern.
- His five points against the Huskies were the second most of Bustamante's career behind the seven (on three goals and an assist) he tallied against Northeastern in Williamsburg last season.
- Bustamante posted his fifth career game with at a goal and an assist in the same contest. He currently leads the CAA in points (14), goals (5) and assists (4).
- Bustamante was also named to the honorable mention list on the
Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week.
- He has scored goals in five of the last eight matches. He has tallied a point in six of the Green and Gold's last 10 contests dating back to Sept. 5 at George Washington. He is averaging 1.4 points per game over those 10 matches.
