W&M Field Hockey Downed by #13 Delaware on the Road

Box Score The William & Mary field hockey team fell in a tough road match Friday night at No. 13 Delaware, 4-0.  The Tribe fell to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association, while the Blue Hens, two-time defending conference champions, improved to 10-1 on the year and 1-0 in league play.

The Tribe fell behind 2-0 just before half-time, and saw another two go in in the second half while facing 15 shots and five penalty corners.  Senior Meredith Savage (Virginia Beach, Va.) put up a spirited defense, making seven saves, while on the other end of the field, Pippin Saunders (Mittagong, NSW) and Emma MacLeod (Richmond, Va.) both tested the Delaware keeper on behalf of the injury-riddled Tribe offense.

William & Mary continues its CAA road trip Sunday, playing at Towson at 12 p.m.
