Undefeated ECAC Champions and 12th in the NationFor the first time ever we completed an entire season undefeated in ECAC competition going 21-0 in dual and open meets against ECAC teams before winning the Intercollegiate Championship Trophy at the Conference Championship. This incredible trophy is one of the oldest in American sport dating back to Dartmouth's win in 1927. It stands over 31 inches high, weighs in at over 30 pounds, and is shaped somewhat like the hockey's Stanley Cup.
After winning the Conference title we advanced to the NCAA Championships where we finished 12th with senior tri-captain Landon Funiciello earning his third NCAA All-American honors by placing fourth on the rings. Landon now joins Ramon Jackson (2004, 2005, 2006) as our only three-time NCAA All-Americans. Senior tri-captain
Sam Patterson and sophomore
Neal Courter advanced to the second round of the NCAA on parallel bars and vaulting respectively. All of the coaches that saw Neal's vault were stunned that he did not advance to the individual event fianals. If you would have assessed the state of our team in September and October, you never would have believed that this team would end up ranked 12
th in the final NCAA rankings for men's gymnatics. That accomplishment was a real triumph for the team as a whole and topped of f a text book season for us.
A record eight of our gymnasts managed to earn All-ECAC honors at the Conference Championship with senior tri-captain
Daniel Potemski leading the way placing 2
nd in the all-around, 3
rd on parallel bars, 5
th on floor exercsie and 6
th on vaulting—Neal (1-FE, 1-V, 3-HB), Landon (1-R, 2-FE), Sam (2-PB) along with juniors
Jason Wang (1-PH),
Peter Ten Eyck (2-PH), J. J. Jindra (4-AA, 4-PB), and
Michael Deitz (2-HB) also earned All-ECAC. Additionally, we finished
second at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championship with two individual national champions as Landon won the rings for the second straight year as did Neal on vaulting. Six gymnasts earned ten USAG Collegiate All-American certificates: Neal (1-V, 2-FE, 4-HB), Landon (1-R, 5-PB), Daniel (2-AA, 4-V), Jason (3-PH), Michael (3-HB) and sophomore
Keaton Ackerman (5-AA). Over the summer Landon, Neal, and Daniel participated in the Qualifiers for the USA Gymnastics World Games trials with Landon and Neal advancing to the final trials in Philadelphia.

Nataional Academic Championship Number Sixth in Record Breaking FashionOur accomplishments on the academic front were absolutely incredible as the gymnasts earned the program's sixth College Gymnastics Association national academic team title by posting the highest recorded grade point average since the inception of the team award in 1991. By combining for a 3.622 team grade point average, we were able to eclipse the previous record of 3.616 that was established by Cornell in 1993. No other men's gymnastics team has more national academic titles (six—1991, 1992, 2002, 2008, 2014 and 2014) or more individual All-American Scholar-Athlete Awards (157) than the Tribe.
Amazingly, nine of our gymnats earned W&M Provost Awards for maintaining cumulative grade point averages above 3.5 with our three senior, tri-captains leading the way, each earning their fourth straight Provost Award (Sam and Daniel in economics and Landon in pre-med). Peter (business-finance) earned his third Provost with Neal (chemistry and French) and
Adam Avant (pre-med) earning their second while Keaton (business-accounting),
Aria Sabbagh (pre-med), and
Mat Turnansky (applied math) all received their first Provost Award.
