WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary men's basketball team kicked off the 2014-15 season with the campaign's first practice on Friday afternoon. Tribe head coach

Fans will have the first opportunity to view the Tribe publically as part of Homecoming Saturday on Oct. 18. The men's basketball program will hold an intrasquad scrimmage at Kaplan Arena beginning at 11:30 a.m. prior to the Homecoming football game against Villanova at 3:30 p.m.
Last season, Shaver led the Tribe to the seventh 20-win season in program history and second under his tutelage. W&M also advanced to the CAA Championship game for the third time in the last seven seasons. The Tribe returns two starters in senior
Marcus Thornton and junior
Terry Tarpey to go along with six other returning players, including three (
Omar Prewitt,
Daniel Dixon and
Sean Sheldon), who saw extensive time off the bench for the Green and Gold.
W&M opens the 2014-15 on the road at Florida on Friday, Nov. 14. The game will be televised nationally on the SEC Network and will tip-off at 6 p.m. The Tribe's home opener will be on Tuesday, Nov. 18, against Howard at 7 p.m. Click
