Tribe Falls on the Road at #18 Wake Forest

The William and Mary field hockey team completed its four game road-swing on Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 18-ranked Wake Forest 4-0 in Winston-Salem.  The Tribe is now 2-4 on the year, while the Demon Deacons improved to 5-1 overall.

The Tribe was credited with three shots in the contest, two by junior Emma Clifton (Loomberah, NSW) and the first of the season for junior Kelsea Hull (Fredericksburg, Va.).  Redshirt-sophomore Cate Johnson (Charlottesville, Va.) earned the start and the decision in goal, making five saves in 42:34 of action.  Sophomore Meredith Savage (Virginia Beach, Va.) came on for the final 27:26, and made two stops while holding Wake scoreless over the final 15 minutes.

William and Mary returns home this weekend, hosting Michigan at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, and Davidson on Sunday at 12 p.m.
