Tribe Falls at #15 Old Dominion

The William and Mary field hockey team fell on the road Friday night at state rival No. 15 Old Dominion, falling by a 4-0 count.  The Tribe is now 6-8 on the season, while the Monarchs improved to 8-6 overall.

Box Score

The Tribe kept the Monarchs off the board for nearly the entire first half, as goalkeeper Cate Johnson (Charlottesville, Va.) made five saves and kept the cage pristine until a penalty corner after time had expired.  The home team poured on the goals in the second half to arrive at the final tally, outshooting the Tribe 8-3 in the final 35 minutes.  W&M was led by junior Brittany Hopkins (Springfield, Va.), who had a season-high three shots with two of them coming on-frame.

The Tribe has the rest of the weekend off, before returning to the field next weekend.  W&M will play at No. 20 Drexel on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
