Tribe Basketball Signs Four Players to National Letters of Intent

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William and Mary men's basketball head coach Tony Shaver announced the signing of 6-5 guard Daniel Dixon (Great Falls, Va./Langley/Fishburne), 6-6 wing Omar Prewitt (Mount Sterling, Ky./Montgomery County), 6-4 point guard Mike Schlotman (Munster, Ind./Munster) and 6-9 forward Jack Whitman (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) to National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday. Dixon, Prewitt, Schlotman and Whitman will be eligible to compete for the Green and Gold in the fall of 2013.

"We are extremely excited to add these four young men to our program," Shaver said. "Our staff identified four areas that we wanted to help strengthen our team for the future. We were looking for certain qualities and positions to be filled with this recruiting class. We have signed four student-athletes who are great fits for William and Mary as quality people, students and basketball players."

"Daniel is an athletic shooting guard with great versatility. He is an excellent 3-point shooting threat but can score in a variety of ways. I love his decision-making ability and the fact that he is a long rangy player who takes pride in how he plays on the defensive side of the ball. Daniel is taking a post-graduate year at Fishburne Military School under Coach Ed Huckaby. Ed takes a collegiate approach to his team, so Daniel will be mentally and physically ready for the college game."
