Tiffany Benson '10 Caps Successful Professional Season in France

William and Mary alumna Tiffany Benson '10 recently wrapped up her first professional basketball season in France, helping Limoges ABC to a tie for fifth place in LF2 (the second-level league).  Thanks in large part to the play of the Virginia Beach native, Limoges was in contention to advance to the season-ending tournament all the way up to the final week of regular play.

Benson's efforts led Limoges to improve from no wins in 2009-10 to a 16-14 ledger this spring.  She ranked second in the league in rebounds at 11 per game, and also turned in averages of 9.8 points per game and 2.9 blocks per game while appearing in 29 of 30 contests.  On the season, Benson recorded 10 double-doubles, and had single-game highs of 26 points, 18 rebounds, and eight blocks.

Benson graduated in 2010 from William and Mary with a degree in economics, after a standout four years on the basketball court.  She is the all-time leading shot-blocker in CAA history with 255 rejections, a total that also ranks first in school history for both men and women.  She is also one of just 14 players (men and women) in league history have amassed more than 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.  Benson was the 2008-09 CAA Defensive Player of the Year, and was a three-time member of the all-defensive team.
