Tribe Field Hockeys Bows at #20 Drexel, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The William and Mary field hockey team put up a stout defensive effort Sunday afternoon, but No. 20 Drexel was able to keep chipping away en route to a 3-0 win in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Tribe now stands at 3-10 overall, 1-4 in the CAA, while the Dragons improve to 10-3, 5-0 in league play.

Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Frey (Virginia Beach, Va.) tied her career-high with 12 saves in the contest as she led the Tribe's defense to keep her team in the match. Sophomore Maria Caro (Martinsville, N.J.) also chipped in in front of the goal, recording her fourth defensive save of the year. That season total ranks Caro fifth in the NCAA so far in 2010, and 16th all-time at the College. Caro now has six defensive saves in her career, tied for the 12th-most in school history.

William and Mary returns to action on Friday, October 15th, hosting No. 14 Duke at 7 p.m.
