RICHMOND, Va. - After an outstanding performance in William and Mary's 27-3 victory at Delaware last weekend, senior linebacker
Josh Rutter has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week. The honor marks the second time this season that a Tribe player has earned the award, as junior defensive end
Adrian Tracy garnered the distinction following the win against Norfolk State.
Rutter led the College with eight total tackles (four solo) and recorded a career-high three tackles for a loss. The Union Bridge, Md., native also had a key interception late in the third quarter.
With the impressive effort against the Blue Hens, Rutter now leads the Tribe with 49 total tackles and is second on the squad with 5.5 tackles for a loss. Additionally, he ranks seventh in the conference with 8.3 tackles per game.
Currently on a two-game winning streak, the Tribe will return to action this weekend when it hosts Rhode Island for homecoming on Saturday at 1 p.m.
