Former Tribe Basketball Star Inks Pro Contract To Play In Spain

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Former William & Mary men's basketball star, Jim Moran (Syosset, N.Y.), has signed a two-year deal to play professional basketball for Gran Canaria Claeret, which is based in the Canary Islands. The team is a member of the top professional league in Spain, the ACB, and will begin its upcoming season this fall.

A two-time All-CAA player, Moran led William & Mary last season with a 13.6 scoring average. He became the 24th player in Tribe history to score over 1,000 points, ending his career with 1,324 points, 11th on the all-time scoring list at the College. He also finished on the career top-10 lists in three-point field goals (141-4th), three-point field goals attempted (376-4th), blocks (88-5th), steals (147-5th) and assists (224-9th). Moran graduated in May from William & Mary with a degree in sociology.
