Maria Caro

Maria Caro '13 begins her first season on the Tribe sidelines in 2013, after graduating from W&M in May at the end of a storied four-year career as a field hockey player.  She joins interim head coach Tess Ellis on the sidelines in 2013, and will assist Ellis with all aspects of running the Tribe's nationally-recognized program.

A four-year standout for the Green and Gold, Caro wrapped up her playing career in 2012 being named to the All-CAA first-team and VaSID all-state honors, as well as earning a spot on the all-region second team and an invitation to the NFHCA Senior Game.  She was also a CAA all-rookie selection in 2009, and second-team all-state in 2010.  Caro's career stats included seven goals and five assists, and three game-winning goals including over No. 11 Boston University last season.  She also had seven defensive saves, including five in 2010 alone when she ranked in the national top-10.

Caro has also worked as a physical therapy aide, since 2007 with Procare Physical Therapy in New Jersey, and since graduation at Comber Physical Therapy & Fusion Chriopractic in Williamsburg.  In May of 2013, she graduated from W&M with a degree in kinesiology and health sciences, and a minor in psychology.
