Kelly McQuade enters her first
season on the William and Mary lacrosse coaching staff.
A 2004 graduate of the College,
McQuade played both lacrosse and field hockey for the Tribe. Additionally, she
served as an assistant with both the lacrosse and field hockey teams from
2004-06.
Although McQuade will be
instrumental in all aspects of the Tribe program, her primary responsibilities
will include developing and implementing training sessions, orchestrating a
faster and more dynamic team, recruiting and scouting.
"One of William and Mary's assets
has come to join our staff, and I am excited to have the opportunity to bring Kelly
back to the College," head coach Brooke Ireland said at the time of McQuade's
hiring. "She truly represents the attitude and spirit this program is looking
to achieve. She adds tremendous depth to our staff with her extensive coaching
experience, knowledge of the game, and love for her alma mater."
Prior to rejoining the Tribe
staff, McQuade served as the head field hockey coach at VCU for five seasons. Highlighting
her tenure leading the Rams was an outstanding 2010 season in which she was
honored as the Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year. En route to earning
the distinction, she guided VCU to a 13-6 record, marking the second-most wins
in school history.
An outstanding two-sport athlete
at W&M, McQuade started every game during her final three years in
lacrosse. Additionally, she was a two-year starter in field hockey and garnered
All-CAA accolades as a senior.
A native of Doylestown, Pa.,
McQuade earned a bachelor's of science degree in kinesiology from the College.
McQuade is owner of Zing Fit, a
personal training business located in Richmond.
