Kieran Burke spent one seasons with the Tribe in 2018-19. Prior to W&M, he had seven years of collegiate experience as an assistant, including stops at Boston College, Vanderbilt, Colorado and Cornell prior to joining the Tribe.

During his previous seven seasons an assistant, Burke helped programs to an 78-64 overall record and four seasons in the national rankings, including three top-50 campaigns, while spending time in three of the five major conferences. At his previous stops, his players have earned nine all-conference honors, four ITA Region Senior Players of the Year and an ITA National Most Improved Senior Player of the Year. He also coached players that received ITA Region Player to Watch, Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Senior of the Year accolades. Academically, Burke’s previous teams had 18 players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and four ITA All-Academic Team accolades.

In 2016-17, Burke helped Colorado to a nine-win season. Under his tutelage Nuria Omerno Ruiz won the ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year Award and was selected All-Pac 12.

Burke spent one season in Nashville as a volunteer assistant coach with Vanderbilt in 2015-16. He helped the program to the NCAA Semifinals, a final record of 23-6 and a national ranking of No. 5. The Commodores were the Southeastern Conference runner-up during the regular season with an 11-2 record. Two Vandy players earned All-America honors (Frances Altick and Sydney Campbell), while three garnered All-SEC distinction. Altick was also named the ITA National Most Improved Senior Player. His main responsibilities at Vanderbilt were coaching technique and improving specific areas of players' games through individual workouts, while implementing video analysis and fitness bands to the program.

His first stop as an assistant came in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) at Boston College. He was responsible for all areas of recruiting and developed training and practice schedules, as well as providing skill instruction during his time in Chestnut Hill.

After winning just seven ACC matches in their first six years in the league, the Eagles total 19 during Burke’s four seasons, including a program record seven ACC victories in 2015. In total, BC compiled a 46-45 record and garnered national ranking in each of his final three seasons. The Eagles were ranked in the national top 50 in both 2014 (No. 48) and 2015 (No. 50). BC went 14-10 overall with six ACC wins in 2014, before following it up with 13 victories in 2015, including seven in ACC play.

Five players earned All-ACC honors during Burke’s tenure, and Eagles student-athletes took home two ITA Northeast Region Senior of the Year honors (Jessica Wacnik in 2015 and Erina Kikuchi in 2012) and an ITA Northeastern Region Rookie of the Year (Asiya Dair in 2015). Academically, 11 student-athletes received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and the team garnered ITA All-Academic Team awards in each of his final three seasons. In his final season at BC, Jessica Wacnik became the first player in school history to win the ITA Northeast Region Singles Championship.

Burke also possesses several years of experience serving as a private coach in the Boston area. A native of Morristown, N.J., Burke earned his bachelor's degree at Harvard in sociology. He was a member of the Crimson men’s tennis team, including helping the program to the 2008 Ivy League Championship.
