Season
Matt finished last season in spectacular fashion as he not only earned
All-American honors on floor exercise with his fifth place finish at the USA
Gymnastics Collegiate Championships but he also earned first team Academic
All-American honors ...He is also a beacon of community involvement. For the last
two years, Matt headed up our gymnastics team's canned food drives that brought
in over 5910 pounds of food and clothing for the Williamsburg community and
also served as a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. This year,
he will be the director of the National Eating Disorder Association's (NEDA)
fund raising walk for Williamsburg. Matt has also served two years as an
Orientation Assistant for incoming freshmen classes before moving up to an
Orientation Director's position for this year's class...Over the summer, Matt
participated in a consulting and entrepreneurship study program in Guatemala
and Belize. At this spring's Commencement, he will certainly be in the
consideration to receive the coveted Ewell Award given to William and Mary's
most well-rounded students. Matt will be graduating with a double major in
psychology and business process management and consulting....Rich Pulsfort and
Matt Stevenson formed his primary coaching tandem at Surgent's Elite...Matt is
the son of Bill and Pam Burns.
