Senior Year (2012): Appeared in 23 contests getting the starting nod three times ... Finished the season with a 4-4 record to go along with an ERA of 3.61 ... Earned his fourth win of the season agasint Longwood (May 14) after fanning a season-high six batters while holding LU to just one run ... Junior Year (2011): Made 15 appearances on the mound including five starts ... Ended the season with a 2-6 record with a 5.54 ERA ... Struck out 30 batters in 37.1 innings pitched ... In 10 relief appearances, McCarthy struck out multiple batters on seven occasions ... Earned the win against VCU, pitching six innings while striking out a career-high seven batters ... Also earned a victory out of the bullpen against Hofstra, pitching 1.1 shutout innings and allowing just one hit ...

Sophomore Year (2010): Finished seventh in the CAA with four saves … Third on the Tribe with a 4.46 ERA … Made 19 appearances, third most on the squad … Allowed 24 runs, 20 earned, on 48 hits in 40.1 innings while striking out 48 batters … Walked 19 hitters, the second-lowest total on the team … Allowed opponents to hit at a .287 average … Allowed three runs in his first 10.2 innings on the season … Picked up a save in 2.2 innings versus Old Dominion, striking out four (April 16) … Went three innings for the save against Northeastern, striking out five (May 2) … Struck out four in 2.2 innings of scoreless work versus UMass (March 19) … Got his first save of the season versus Seton Hall (March 6) … Allowed one run in five.1 innings of work against James Madison, striking out seven (April 11) … Posted a 2-5 record on the year …
