2010-11 Men's Gymnastics Roster
Biography
Vince highlighted his outstanding freshman season as the
silver medalist on high bar at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships
where he also just missed a second All-American designation by placing seventh
on the parallel bars ... He completed his inaugural campaign with an amazing 100%
hit percentage on high bar while powering his way into third in the all time
W&M records on floor exercise, eighth on high bar, and ninth on the
parallel bars ... He trained under coach Genadi Shub at the U. S. Gymnastics
Development Center and Yury Aminov at Monmouth Gymnastics ...With a little more
precision on landings and transitions could be a major player on floor exercise
where he tumbles in the rafters ... After finishing last season as our number
five team point scorer and earning All-ECAC honors on the parallel bars, Vince
looks like he will be a mainstay of our floor, parallel bars, and high bar squads
while striving to make a major breakthrough on vaulting with a handspring
double front.
Personal
Son of Vito and Frances Smurro ... Academically, Vince has plans of attaining
Scholastic All-American honors while majoring in kinesiology and health
sciences ... He and teammate Kyle Sneeden
share their January 17th birthday.
