Andy received the 2011 Mister Award from his teammates as the gymnast most responsible for and inspirational to the character and success of the team....He also received the 2009 Rock Award for his hard work and ability to overcome obstacles in the gym. In addition was elected to serve as team co-captain for the second year in a row helping to form a most dynamic duo with fellow graduate Dave Ellis...Andy not only finished the season as our number one team point scorer but also in the number one position for hit percentage among our gymnasts who performed over 20 routines in competitions...He has earned a career total of six USA Gymnastics Collegiate All-American honors on floor exercise, pommel horse, parallel bars and high bar. Andy graduates ranking 3^rd in our all-time records in the all-around and on rings, sixth on pommel horse and parallel bars, and seventh on floor exercise....Andy received the Student Athletic Advisory Committee's service award for spearheaded a fundraising walk for the National Eating Disorders Association that raised over $20,000 from our W&M/Williamsburg community as well as for his volunteering efforts on behalf of Tribe tutors, in our kids gymnastics program and in our canned food drive... Andy was coached by Jim Hisey at Gym Force and is the son of Mike and Suzie Hunter...He was a NCAA qualifier and All-ECAC on five events as well as a second team Scholastic All-American majoring in finance with a concentration in entrepreneurship... Next year he will be working as an area representative for Marco's Pizza as well as a franchise owner in the South Carolina area that includes Columbia, Greenville, and Spartanburg.
