Steve, a USA Gymnastics Collegiate
national champion on the rings as well as an All-American pommel horse, was elected
by his peers to serve as a student-athlete representative on the USAG
Collegiate Gymnastics Committee...A few weeks later at the William and Mary
athletic awards banquet, Steve was presented with the Davidson Award given to
the outstanding rising senior who has excelled in both athletics and academics...
He is the son of Steve and Diane Deutsch and competed for Glenbrook South High
School where he was coached by Steve Gale...While pursuing a double major in
psychology and finance with a
concentration in accounting, Steve has earned first team Academic All-American
honors as well as a W&M Provost Award...He has a way of keeping people on
their toes with his observations and unique dialect and has also received the
team's Pebble Award for his hard work in the gym coupled with an ability to hit
routines at critical junctures in meets...Steve currently ranks fourth in our all-time
records on the rings and seventh on the pommel horse....Over the summer, he found
his internship with Sandbox Industries, a venture capital and business
incubator firm, to be quite stimulating and may now be looking to enter this
field once he graduates...A highlight of Steve's final season will be serving as
elected captain.
