Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors at Zable Stadium in 2026
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events). This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.

Cashless Concessions for 2026-27
W&M, in partnership with W&M Dining and Aramark, has implemented cashless concessions at all home athletic competitions for the 2026-27 academic year in an effort to improve speed of service and the overall fan experience. The transition to fully cashless transactions at concession stands is designed to reduce wait times and streamline the purchasing process for fans. The move follows a growing trend among collegiate and professional stadiums and sporting venues across the country and reflects support expressed in a recent survey of William & Mary fans. All concession stands at W&M Athletics venues will accept major credit cards, including Discover, Mastercard and Visa, as well as mobile payment options including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Cash will no longer be accepted at concession stands.

W&M enters Saturday's conference matchup with a 2-3 overall record and a 1-2 mark in league play. The Tribe has scored at least 20 points in 13 of its last 14 games dating back to last season and ranks second in the Patriot League in scoring (22.2). Quarterback Winston Watkins currently leads the Patriot League in passing efficiency (150.1) and ranks third in total offense (205.8), while wide receiver Khylil Johnson ranks sixth nationally in yards per catch (22.21). Defensively, linebacker Harrison Johnson ranks 13th nationally with 9.8 tackles per game.

After opening its season with four consecutive losses, Holy Cross got into the win column with a 38-30 victory at Lafayette last Saturday. Despite its 1-4 record, all four losses have come against quality opponents who either compete at the FBS level or have been nationally ranked in the FCS this season. The Crusaders are led by quarterback David Lynch, who is averaging 218.4 passing yards per game and has thrown eight touchdown passes. Joseph Williams leads the rushing attack and is averaging 53.2 yards per game on the ground, while Lincoln Fisher has totaled 16 receptions for 274 yards with four touchdowns. Defensively, Adam Due has recorded a team-high 50 tackles with 2.0 sacks, 6.0 TFL and an interception.

Saturday's game will mark just the third meeting between the Tribe and Holy Cross, as the teams played in 1986 and 1987 when the Crusaders were led by head coach Mark Duffner, who was a defensive lineman at W&M (1972-74) and inducted into W&M's Hall of Fame in 1990.
