WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary women's tennis dropped a 6–1 decision to unbeaten Maryland on Saturday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
The loss moves the Tribe to 2–1 on the season, while the Terrapins improve to 4–0 in dual play.
William & Mary earned the doubles point with victories at the top and bottom of the lineup. Francesca Davis and Tilda Larsson edged their opponents 7–6 at No. 1, while Emma Pell and Yaelle Vaissaud secured a 7–5 win at No. 3. Maryland claimed the No. 2 doubles match to keep the point close.
The Terrapins responded in singles play, capturing wins at all six positions to clinch the match. Rebeka Svabikova pushed her opponent to a tight first set at No. 4, while several matches across the lineup featured competitive sets before Maryland pulled away.
