RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary women's tennis earned a 4–2 road victory over VCU on Thursday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center, improving to 3–1 on the season.
VCU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Alexia Gonzalez-Galino and Mira Kernagis fell 6–3 at No. 2, while Sia Chaudry Chaudry and Parker Debnam dropped a 6–3 decision at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles match featuring Francesca Davis and Tilda Larsson was left unfinished at 5–4.
The Tribe responded in singles play, winning four matches to secure the team victory.
At No. 2, Larsson posted a straight-set win, 6–4, 6–2. Davis added a win at No. 3, winning two tiebreaker sets 7-6 (6-3), 7-6 (7-6).
Kernagis rallied for a 3–6, 6–4, 7–5 victory at No. 4, and Rebeka Svabikova secured the clinching point at No. 5 with a 3–6, 6–4, 6–4 comeback win.
VCU picked up its second point at No. 1 singles, while the No. 6 match was left unfinished.
