WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary women's tennis delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping Longwood, 7–0, at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
The win improves the Tribe to 6–2 overall and 4–1 at home this season, while the Lancers fall to 2–3.
William & Mary secured the doubles point with convincing victories at No. 1 and No. 3. Francesca Davis and Tilda Larsson rolled to a 6–1 win over Elizave Gnilozubova and Fe van Eijkelenburg at the top spot, while Emma Pell and Yaelle Vaissaud added a 6–2 triumph at No. 3. The No. 2 doubles match went unfinished.
In singles play, the Tribe captured all six courts to complete the sweep.
Sia Chaudry battled to a three-set victory at No. 1, rallying for a 4–6, 6–3, 10–6 win over Bali Song. Larsson followed with a straight-set 7–5, 6–4 decision at No. 2, and Davis earned a 6–1, 6–4 victory at No. 3.
Mira Kernagis was dominant at No. 4 with a 6–1, 6–1 win , while Rebeka Svabikova claimed a 6–2, 6–1 decision at No. 5. Alexia Gonzalez-Galino completed the sweep with a 6–0, 6–1 victory at No. 6.
