WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary men's tennis posted a dominant 7–0 victory over Navy on Friday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
The win improves the Tribe to 2–3 on the season, while the Midshipmen fall to 10–7 overall.
William & Mary secured the doubles point by winning two of three matches. Oliver Hague and Gur Trakhtenberg earned a 6–4 victory at No. 1, while Nikita Bortnichek and Dylan Chou added a 6–3 win at No. 3. Navy claimed the No. 2 doubles contest.
In singles play, the Tribe swept all six matches in straight sets. Albert Hansen was first off the court with a 6–0, 6–3 win at No. 6. Oliver Hague followed with a 6–3, 6–2 victory at No. 2, and Dylan Chou added a 6–3, 6–3 decision at No. 5.
Nikita Bortnichek earned a 6–1, 6–4 win at No. 3, while Gur Trakhtenberg secured a 6–2, 7–5 triumph at the top of the lineup. Austin Cohen capped the afternoon with a 6–4, 6–3 victory at No. 4 to complete the shutout.
