Tribe Wins Third Straight, Edges Richmond 4–3 on the Road

RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary women's tennis earned a hard-fought 4–3 road victory over Richmond on Wednesday evening at Raintree Swim and Racquet Club.

The win improves the Tribe to 5–1 on the season, while the Spiders fall to 1–5.

Richmond claimed the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2. Francesca Davis and Tilda Larsson fell 6–4 at the top spot, while Alexia Gonzalez-Galino and Mira Kernagis dropped a 7–6 decision at No. 2. Emma Pell and Yaelle Vaissaud picked up the Tribe's lone doubles win with a 6–2 triumph at No. 3.

William & Mary responded in singles play, winning four of six matches to secure the team victory.

At No. 3, Davis earned a straight-set win, 6–3, 6–3. Kernagis followed with a dominant 6–3, 6–1 decision at No. 4. Larsson battled through three sets at No. 2, claiming a 6–2, 2–6, 6–4 victory, and Gonzalez-Galino sealed the match with a 6–4, 6–2 win at No. 6.

Richmond collected singles victories at No. 1 and No. 5, but the Tribe's depth throughout the middle and bottom of the lineup proved decisive.
