SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The William & Mary men's gymnastics team posted its best score of the season but was defeated in a dual meet at Springfield, 310.55 - 303.1, on Sunday afternoon.
In addition to the season-high team total, W&M recorded the top team scores in three events – floor (52.15, season high), vault (54.05) and high bar (50.8). The Tribe also registered season-bests on pommel horse (50.75) and rings (48.1).
Niko Greenly highlighted W&M's individual performances by winning the floor title with a career-high 13.6, while he narrowly missed out on a top-three finish on vault (13.45).
Also coming up big were a trio of Tribe standouts who posted multiple top-three finishes –
Gavin Zborowski (second on rings, 12.8 – season high; third on pommel horse, 13.9 – career high);
Ricky Pizem (second on vault, 13.75; third on high bar, 12.8);
Evan Wilkins (second on high bar, 12.85 – season high; tied for third on parallel bars, 12.7 – season high).
Freshman
Nicholas Kosarikov continued his impressive start to the season and placed second on parallel bars (12.85) and just missed out on a top-three finish on high bar (12.75, career high).
Trenton Peazant (13.5, season high) and
Michael Weiner (13.3) placed third on vault and floor, respectively.
