WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary men's soccer freshman Aidan Gatchell earned another honor Tuesday, receiving honorable mention recognition on the TopDrawerSoccer Men's Team of the Week.

The recognition comes one day after Gatchell was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the first time in his collegiate career.

Gatchell recorded the first multi-goal game of his career in the Tribe's 4-0 victory over Howard on Thursday, finishing with a career-high five points on two goals and an assist.

The freshman opened the scoring in the 18th minute before assisting on Brown Huffard's goal in the 59th. Gatchell added his second goal of the evening in the 70th minute to extend W&M's advantage to 3-0.

Gatchell has scored three goals over his last two matches and leads the Green and Gold with 16 points on five goals and six assists. He ranks second in the CAA in points and is tied for fifth in goals. His five goals are the most by a W&M freshman in a single season since Alexander Levengood scored seven in 2019.

William & Mary returns to action tonight, hosting Navy at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., with the match streamed live on FloCollege and the FloSports Channel on Prime Video.
