Track & Field Concludes Penn State National Open

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The William & Mary track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Penn State National Open on Saturday afternoon. The performance was highlighted by Finn Middleton, who broke his own school record in the 60m hurdles.

DAY ONE
Middleton began his performance on Friday in the first round of the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.05 to finish fifth place and advance to the finals. The freshman from then improved upon his record with a finals time of 7.94, the first ever sub-8.00 60m hurdles time in school history.
 
In the 60m first round, Jacob Robinson clocked in at 6.91 to place seventh. He advanced to the semifinals where he equaled that time, finishing 10th.

In the weight throw, the tandem of Amelia Bawcombe (17.93/58' 10") and Talia Anderson (17.71m/58' 1.25") both scored top-four finishes.

DAY TWO
The events began with another solid showing from a Tribe rookie as Madilyn Lewis ran the 600m in 1:38.97, tying for ninth all-time program history.

Robinson added another top-10 in the 200m, clocking in at 22.04. That tied for the 10th-fastest individual performance ever.

Uriah Harris continued to improve his PR in the shot put, delivering a throw of 17.97m (58' 11.5") to place fourth. He remains third all-time following his performance at the Hokie Invitational last weekend.

UP NEXT
W&M will return to Pennsylvania next weekend for the Penn Classic in Philadelphia on Friday.
