TRIBE NOTES

Last Time Out
The Tribe (0-2-2, 0-1-0 CAA) earned a hard fought 1-1 draw against UMBC on Saturday at Martin Family Stadium. Sam Delgado opened the scoring right before halftime, finishing off well executed passes from Evan Rabush and Diogo Branco from the left side of the box. The Retrievers equalized in the 61st minute off a set piece. Shots finished 12-7 in favor of UMBC on the afternoon with Ryan Eapen picking up four saves for W&M.

Spreading the Wealth
With the goal by Delgado against UMBC, the Tribe has had four different goal scorers in four different matches this season. Five different players have also collected assists in 2025 for W&M, with Delgado being the only player with both a goal and an assist this season.

Clean Sheets and Scoring Trends
The last six wins for the Tribe have been shutouts, including a 4-0 decision over UNCW at home a season ago. Dating back to a season ago, the Tribe has scored in its last nine matches. The last time W&M was blanked was against Monmouth last October.

90 Minute Man
Aidan Morrison has played all 90 minutes in every match he has been active (18) since the start of the 2024 season. He has appeared in two matches this year so far, scoring a goal against Navy in the season opener.

Tribe Ties on Staff
Chris Norris heads into his 22nd year as the head coach of the Tribe in 2025 and 35th season involved with the William & Mary men's soccer as either a player or a coach. Norris made 81 starts in 84 games with W&M before graduating in 1995 and was a two-time All-CAA First Team Selection before immediately joining the staff as an assistant coach. He took the reins of the program in 2004 and has led the Tribe to four NCAA Tournaments and a 164-161-58 record.

Jeff Dominguez is back on staff as an assistant for the second time beginning this season. Dominguez, a 1999 grad, made the NCAA Tournament all four years during his playing career and won two CAA titles before going on to play professional soccer. He was an assistant under Norris in 2004-05.

History with UNCW
The Tribe posted debatably its best performance of 2024 in its last meeting with UNCW (0-2-1, 0-1-0 CAA), taking care of the Seahawks 4-0 in Williamsburg. Overall, the Green and Gold holds a 37-10-7 record against UNCW with a 16-4-5 record in matches played in Wilmington. Six of the last eight meetings between the two sides have been decided by one goal or ended in a draw.

History with NC State
For the 14th time ever, and fourth time since 2021, the Tribe and Wolfpack will square off on the pitch. NC State (4-0-1, 0-0-1 ACC) has a 7-5-1 advantage all-time in the series including a 4-2 win in Williamsburg a season ago. W&M's last triumph over NC State came in Raleigh, 1-0, in 2021. Eight of the last nine meetings have been decided by a goal or less.
